Unstoppable Domains Partners with Cake Wallet and Monero to Launch .xmr Domain

Monero’s privacy-focused blockchain now has its own dedicated top-level domain, carrying the same transaction simplicity as Ethereum’s .eth while maintaining full anonymity.

Unstoppable Domains, the world’s largest provider of onchain domain names and digital identities, has partnered with Cake Wallet, the leading open-source wallet for trading the privacy coin Monero (XMR), and Monero, to introduce the .xmr Top-Level Domain (TLD). This new domain enables Cake Wallet and Monero users to easily send and receive XMR using simple, human-readable domains, enhancing user experience while promoting the broader adoption of Monero.

Monero is widely regarded as one of the leading privacy coins in the cryptocurrency space, known for its secure, anonymous transactions. Using advanced cryptography, Monero hides transaction details—such as the sender, receiver, and amount—ensuring that all transactions remain private and untraceable. This privacy focus has made Monero a popular choice for users prioritizing security in their digital interactions.

As part of this partnership, Cake Wallet will support .xmr usernames on their platform. Users will be able to create a unique digital identity for blockchain interactions, replacing complex alphanumeric wallet addresses with memorable addresses like ‘username.xmr. This simplifies transactions in Cake Wallet and other supported platforms, reducing the risk of errors causing a loss of funds while improving user experience.

Cake Wallet, a leading wallet for Monero and other top cryptocurrencies, offers secure and private transactions. With the new. xmr TLD, Cake Wallet users can create a digital identity supported by Unstoppable Domains’ ecosystem of more than 865 integrated applications.

With a single .xmr domain, users can manage assets and interactions across multiple blockchain networks, including Monero, smart contract platforms like Solana, Bitcoin, and both EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) and non-EVM compatible chains. This versatility simplifies asset management for users while promoting greater integration between different blockchain ecosystems.

“The partnership between Unstoppable Domains and Cake Wallet goes beyond simplifying blockchain onboarding—it’s about providing Monero users with the privacy and security they expect while giving them greater control over their digital identities,” said Sandy Carter, Chief Operating Officer, Unstoppable Domains. “With the .xmr domain, users can keep their financial interactions private and benefit from human-readable addresses that reduce transaction errors. By bringing .xmr domains to Cake Wallet, we’re enhancing privacy, usability, and control, specifically tailored for the Monero community.”

This collaboration marks a significant step forward for both platforms, as it enhances the seamless integration of privacy-focused technologies with user-friendly domain management. By working together, Cake Wallet, Monero and Unstoppable Domains are enabling users to control their digital identities with greater ease while expanding the reach of Monero within the blockchain space.

“We’re delighted to partner with Unstoppable Domains to offer our users a powerful tool that simplifies transactions and enhances privacy,” said Vikrant Sharma, co-founder and CEO of Cake Wallet. “Together, we are empowering users by giving them control over their digital identities and expanding the ways they can engage in the blockchain ecosystem. The possibilities and potential are truly exciting.”

As part of their collaboration, Unstoppable Domains and Cake Wallet will strategize on applying for a branded generic top-level domain (gTLD) with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) at the upcoming ICANN gTLD issuance. Securing a gTLD would give the .xmr domain extension global recognition, greater control over the domain space, and enhanced credibility, improving brand visibility and user trust.
