The third annual Crypto Finance Conference (CfC St. Moritz) has announced SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce as the latest speaker to join the event lineup.

Peirce brings more than 20 years of financial and legal experience to the conference, having previously held positions at the prestigious Mercatus Center at George Mason University, serving as Senior Counsel on the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, and as a Staff Attorney in the SEC’s Division of Investment Management.

Peirce will be leading a discussion on a number of different topics including; regulatory challenges on the international scale and in the US, obstacles regarding mainstream adoption of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, and the SEC’s current agenda on crypto and blockchain.

Federal Councillor and Head of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Ignazio Cassis, will also speak at the event and discuss foreign policy vision — marking the second time a Federal Councillor will be attending the three-day conference. Deputy Member of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank (SNB) Dr. Thomas Moser will also be on hand to discuss how central banks are gearing up for mainstream adoption of digital currencies.

Other confirmed speakers include; Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, co-founders of Gemini, Meltem Demirors from Coinshares, Bill Tai, Chairman & CEO of ACTAI Global, and many more.

“Attracting such an array of esteemed speakers from different parts of the world and industries to the third annual Crypto Finance Conference is a testament to the far-reaching influence of the crypto and blockchain spheres, as well as the growing appetite for high-level discussion around crypto’s assimilation in our global society,” said Nicolo Stoehr, CEO of the CfC St. Moritz.

CfC St. Moritz 2020 will also hone in on Africa’s ascent as a global crypto and blockchain powerhouse. The conference will include a number of key talks highlighting the strength and depth of Africa’s blockchain community, as well as opportunities for further expansion. Speakers such as Günter Nooke, German Chancellor’s Personal Representative for Africa, Carlo Rossotto from the Worldbank, and Christopher Fabian from Unicef will explore the opportunities and challenges in regards to the blockchain ecosystem in Africa.

“The conference underlines Switzerland’s prominent position on the global crypto stage and the growing interest around crypto and blockchain exploration at the highest levels of government and industry. It also provides a platform to explore opportunities for collaboration, and to identify hubs of burgeoning activity. I’m excited by the groundswell of momentum powering Africa’s emergence as a bonafide crypto and blockchain centre of the future — a topic that will be explored in detail over the course of the conference,” Stoehr concluded.
