We have witnessed a massive popularity regarding DeFi projects, but it's seems that DeFi hype is over. For the past week DeFi tokens plunged massively.

Whole crypto market fell recently. Most of crypto market up today.

It seems liquid pools have reached their maximum volume, and the investments are not as profitable as they used to be. This has caused investors to lose motivation to spend more money, and at the same time they are also affected by a number of scam projects related to DeFi.
The decrease in prices is inevitable after a very fast, extremely strong price increase.

Bubbles are always and everywhere.  This is not a reason to completely deny this or that trend.  DEFI is a major step in the popularization of cryptocurrencies, and this movement will not end quickly

Indeed. The hype is always temporary and it will be over very soon. Defi hype may be starting to be over, and the investors aren't interested very much in Defi projects. I think we don't say it is about the negative issue, but it is related to the hype for a big increase in Defi tokens on the market only.

Even though the DeFi hype is over, why are there still so many new DeFi-based projects? is this some kind of trend to improve project reputation?

I don't think DeFI hype is over.  People just want to see results now.  If the results are encouraging, hype will continue with renewed vigor.

Yearn.Finance further down with 56% in the past 30days. I do believe Defi projects are not over, but it seems that the prices of established Defi projects have been stabilized.
