On July 14, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the draft law 2285-d “On regulation of activities related to organization and conduct of gambling” at the second reading stage. This long expected event will set the rise of Ukraine to the global gambling market stardom and will allow refilling the budget, emptied by the quarantine crisis. Overall, 248 deputies voted in favor of the law, 95 – against, 17 – abstained, and 27 – did not vote. The new bill will come into effect the next day after its publication.

On the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the adaptive quarantine was prolonged in Ukraine until October 31, 2020 in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus. As a preventive measure, the government has imposed a ban on the entry to the country for foreigners in the period from August 28 to September 28.

Currently, Ukraine is not the only country where quarantine measures have been toughened to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Aiming to stabilize the epidemiologic situation, new restrictions are introduced in Poland, Germany, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, and other countries.       

Smile-Expo, the organizer of Ukrainian Gaming Week exhibition, takes a serious approach to ensuring safety at the event and wants to make sure that attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, and media partners do not expose themselves to the risk of catching the infection and stay healthy.

Furthermore, the organizer team is willing to realize the whole event program. However, due to new requirements of the Ukrainian government, it is not possible to organize the exhibition in the expected scope as well as to organize quality networking.

As far as UGW aims to unite representatives of the gambling field from all over the world, everyone interested needs to have a possibility to get to the event irrespective of the country of residence. But taking into account that different countries are strengthening quarantine measures, foreign exhibitors and guests may face difficulties when travelling to Ukraine.....
