Ukrainian Gaming Week 2020: Legislation Is Underway, Event Program Is Being Arranged

On 11-12 of March, Ukrainian Gaming Week 2020 will become the first specialized event dedicated to the reviving gambling market of Ukraine. It will be organized by Smile-Expo international company.

On January 16, 2020, Verkhovna Rada has adopted the draft law № 2285-d on legalization of the gambling business in Ukraine in the first reading. 260 deputies voted in favor. The new bill is missing two paragraphs and has increased minimum age for players (21) in comparison with the previous version.

Adoption of the draft law in the first reading has become the starting point for the revival of the Ukrainian gambling industry. It still has to pass through some stages of the legislative procedure, but there’s already an understanding of what the legalization will look like. The program of UGW 2020 is being arranged in the same direction....
