In case of pets' hair you can choose any type of vacuum cleaner, all of them are effective for cleaning it.
Speaking about carpets, I don't know how many of them you have in your house. Main thing is the material from which they're made, mostly according to it you need to choose the vacuum cleaner.
The most amount of the modern carpets are made from synthetic fibers which are very durable for possible damage from the vacuum cleaners. That means that you can buy any the most aggressive one https://pickadvisor.org/best-vacuum-for-long-hair/.
Comparing with this type the carpets from wool and natural fibers need much more careful and gentle cleaning.

I like my good old one Miele Compact C2 Electro+ . It's the expensive vacuum cleaner, I bought it for $700 but it's really worth that price.
It's excellent for all types of cleaning including our carpets, I'm sure that it'll be helpful for cleaning the pets hair too.

I prefer robot vacuum cleaners. But I like to ask professional assistance from the companies to complete this task. That is the reason I am happy to work with them every time.

I guess some vacuum cleaners should be cheaper then they really are. For example when I need to find information about some kind of cleaner of other cleaning tech I check https://cleanup.expert/robot-vacuums/ and read what I wanted. That's the key. Check it too

For carpets it's best if the vacuum cleaner comes with a good quality brush attachment, that makes cleaning carpets a lot more effective.

Since you have cats you could get one specifically for pets. I have a $150 vaccum that comes with attachments for pet hair, but I don't have inside animals. It still works great and I actually have toddlers, which makes way more of a mess than a cat would. Mine is a Bissel Powerlifter Pet.
