The major update introduces several new features, including the integration of non-fungible tokens (NFT), easier installation and upgrading of DCore nodes as well as an increase in the limit of co-authors supported in the revenue splitting functionality (now up to 10,000 co-authors).
According to DECENT’s release notes, the update resourcefully integrates a technology known as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) inside the DCore ecosystem. Non-fungible tokens—a virtually fresh addition to the blockchain scene—are tokens which actualize exclusive digital assets.
Unlike custom tokens, which can be also created on DCore (equivalent to Ethereum’s ERC-20), each non-fungible token is thoroughly unique and represents a particular asset which is unable to be replaced by another token. These tokens have, so far, been predominantly used in crypto gaming, mostly known as “crypto collectibles,” homologous to the thought-provoking blockchain game, CryptoKitties.
