Mining difficulty refers to the computational requirements for the mathematical process underlying mining, during which miners repeatedly try to find a hash below a set level. Miners who “discovered” this hash are rewarded for the next block of the transaction. Mining difficulty changes every 2016 blocks (approximately every two weeks) in accordance with the network hashrate.
