Binance recently has been hacked also, I think there is no safe exchange wallet so your best option is to hold your coins or tokens in your personal wallet where you hold your own privatekey in safe.

Im quite new to crypto so i wanted to know what exchanges do you use and i'd be grateful for advises on security. I currently keep my crypto on localbitcoins but it recently got hacked to im concerned for my money. I want to move it somewhere safe but still be able to make trades without much fuss. Using hardware wallet is most encouraged because the hackers will have a really hard time dealing with the hardware wallet encryption and 2 factor authentication, never save your money in a centralized exchange for too long and use privacy coin like veil which protects its user identity so theres no one could identify you.

I secure my crypto asset using nano ledger, besides that if I save it in binance. I am always careful when storing anything including bitcoin, ethereum and other altcoins.

Exchanges are even worst. Let's use binance as example, they are very strong exchange till dare and hackers were able to intrude in, assuming there was no fund for binance to replace fund what would have happened to users. I feel privacy wallets are the best. You can get that from veil, monero even atomic wallet is also good. Exchange is good but not all are secured to keep funds as hackers are everywhere.
