An alpha-version of the Krypton Faucet is now live.

It drips $KR.  :o

http://Faucet.Krypton.Rocks

You will notice that it is currently being hosted on a server maintained by it's creator @mobnepal (on slack).

When testing is complete, the faucet will be moved to the Krypton.Rocks server.

Thanks for giving the faucet a test drip!  8)

[Roadmap Update: Covertress at Consensus 2016]

Good morning, Krypton!

What a beautiful and busy morning it is here for me... last day to pack before leaving for Consensus 2016.

While thinking about where to store some valuables while I'm away, it occurred to me to remind you that your Krypton are most safe in your own wallet.

Now, I realize that the Krypton wallet cannot run on older PCs and that you must keep them on an exchange. Our team is working very hard to bring more exchanges online so that you have options.

For everyone else, may I ask, "What are you waiting for? MtGox, Cryptsy? Or just the occasional server crash? Bring your coins home!" Right now, there are over 1 million KR on Yobit Exchange. http://gaiaplatform.com/kr/richlist (#1 wallet is burn address, #2 wallet is Yobit) That's a sizable chunk of total KR. (2,754,461) http://totalkr.krypton.rocks/

For first-time Krypton wallet users, you can find download links and installation instructions on our website at: http://krypton.rocks/windows-mac-wallets/

If you still need help, there is a dedicated #technical-support room in our slack channel. Click here for an invitation: slackinc955.azurewebsites.net

Now, on to some fun stuff... Here's what Team Krypton did this week:

  • Mobnepal - Release of alpha Krypton Faucet - Thank you!
http://faucet.krypton.rocks
  • Rapid Blue - Croatian translation of Krypton bct OP - Thank you!
  • Aminerminer - Dutch translation of Krypton bct OP - Thank you!
  • Vistaprint - for delivering my business cards and Consensus promo materials on time - Thank you!
  • CoinGecko - for promising to add Krypton soon - Thank you!
  • Consensus 2016 - for confirming my badge & giving me a quick check in QR code - Thank you!
  • Mobnepal - Ongoing Krypton avatar campaign on bct - Thank you!
  • ocminer, Suprnova - for continuing to put up with our fast blocks. - Thank you!
  • Krypton_Dev - for patiently continuing to perfect the 'kick ass' full block explorer, while we all whine. - Thank you!

Wow. Time flys! I have to get packing!

Follow my conference progress here and check out the talks I'll be attending: https://trello.com/c/rmDIDuOT/22-consensus-2016-conference

Follow Krypton Team progress here: https://trello.com/b/JmmF7y7A/krypton

I'll write when I can. And I know, "Pics or it didn't happen!" lol

See you at Consensus!

[Roadmap Update]

Good morning, Krypton!

[cough, cough] Yes, I caught the flu while traveling home from Consensus.  :'(  #gogreyhound lol

On the bright side, I'm here, at home, with nothing to do but KR all day. That thought alone makes me feel better, as working for Krypton is all I want to do *every day. ;)

Yesterday, I was also off work sick. Here's a quick update of what Team Krypton and I have accomplished since my return from NYC:

  • Russian language version of Krypton's OP is now on bct and rockin' the view count! - Thank you @matvey6. - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1464531.msg14782497#msg14782497
  • Korean language version of Krypton's OP is complete and will be posted today! - Thank you @slyph6.
  • Krypton was listed on CoinGecko, cryptocurrency tracking site. (Krypton's rank will appear after a few days of statistics.) - Thank you, my friend, Bobby Ong, owner of CoinGecko. - https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/krypton
  • Krypton has partnered with Sameroom to beam 5 slack rooms into Krypton's irc room, so everyone can keep up to date with the latest happenings. - Thank you Andrei, Boris and Jared of Sameroom!
  • For those mining KR with NVIDIA, like me, here is a miner made for CUDA. - Thanks @cakes, for the links: https://github.com/Genoil/cpp-ethereum/blob/master/README.md -and- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1368785.0
  • Suprnova mining pool reset. Shares showing. - Thanks again to ocminer.  ;)
  • Updated Krypton Faucet with extra security measures. (One at a time, please!) - Thank you @mobnepal. - http://www.play4coin.com/
  • Returned a bazillion personal messages that I received during my absence and drafted a 'was nice to meet you' letter to all of my new friends and acquaintances from Consensus. That goes out today to over 100 people. - Thank you Consensus 2016 for the meet and greet opportunity!
  • Caught up Bittrex and Poloniex with all of the latest news from Team Krypton and my trip. - Thank you Bittrex Bill and Poloniex for considering Krypton.
  • Met online with RagingBull and Krypton_Dev. RB promises that Krypton_Dev now has no other project than the Krypton Block Explorer. Krypton_Dev promises to forgo sleep until it is finished. - Thank you devs!

So, you see, there is always *much going on behind the scenes, even though it may not be posted here on a daily basis (and even when I have the flu!  :P)

You can watch the updates happening, minute by minute on Krypton's Trello: https://trello.com/b/JmmF7y7A/krypton
In the upper right, click, "Show Menu", then "Activity" to see it all.

[cough, cough] Uggh. I surely wish there was a better way to be here all day than being sick. This is my goal, to build not just a coin but, a company that employs Team Krypton full time.

Things are going to begin happening at a lightning pace once Krypton_Dev finishes the block explorer. Please teleport him some coffee and your good wishes.  ;) :D

Join us on irc room #Kryptoncoin or on Krypton's slack for live KR talk: slackinc955.azurewebsites.net

And, don't forget to tweet to @BittrexExchange and @Poloniex! - Thank you, Krypton Community!  ;D

Hello, Krypton!

It's time again for a weekly update. Sorry this one is late today. As usual, I've been busy with A LOT of things.

Here is a quick recap of what was accomplished by Team Krypton and others this week:

150 Faucet users
177 Slack members
48 FB likes
12,879 Twitter followers of me, covertress > https://twitter.com/covertress

Hindi translation of Krypton OP by @suny51. Thank you. - BitcoinTalk > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1475658.msg14875801#msg14875801 ; BitcoinGarden > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1475658.msg14875801#msg14875801

Updated Crowdfire Twitter follower campaign with a new message, since I returned from Consensus 2016.

GitHub repository of Krypton FAQ created by @pltrdy. Thank you. Topics include: How to mine, how to use and backup wallet and useful .bat scripts. > https://github.com/pltrdy/krypton_howto

Ended bct avatar campaign created by @mobnepal. Thank you. Have you seen all the green, Krypton avatars on bct? I have.

Aminerminer, Krypton graphics, came through again, in a rush to complete some graphics size translations for a few undisclosed projects. Thank you.

Integrated Trello, Krypton's Dynamic Roadmap, with Slack. Now all Trello updates go to the slack room, #trello-updates. Krypton's Roadmap > https://trello.com/b/JmmF7y7A/krypton

Worked on a proposal for Higher Education in the UK. "The scope would be a ledger that could manage all UK universities."
Potential to finance the project was good. Analysis of the finances of universities in England by HEFCE shows that capital expenditure is projected to be 3,439M Pounds in 2013-2014, 29.5% higher than the level reported for 2012-2013. (source [pdf]: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.universitiesuk.ac.uk/highereducation/Documents/2014/PatternsAndTrendsInUKHigherEducation2014.pdf&ved=0ahUKEwj39_3kl-fMAhVHRSYKHSp-APoQFggvMAM&usg=AFQjCNHX8rhoIMblahb84Mktvhy9XKeNpw&sig2=niZiCskOGHJym4sRNLRwGg)
The problem with this project lies here: There were 2.3M students in 162 universities in the UK for the year 2012-2013. The issue is one of scalability.
Scalability issue proposed fix: Raiden Network is a proposed extension to Ethereum which scales-out asset transfer capacity. It's inspired by the Lightning Network which leverages off-chain asset transfers to carry out the vast majority of transactions. Unfortunately, it does not exist yet. This is work in progress. (https://github.com/brainbot-com/raiden)
Bottom line, it's impossible to match the throughput capacity of just a single credit card company (VISA's max 56,000 tps) on any blockchain, be it Bitcoin or Ethereum or Krypton, without incurring enormous costs in terms of CPU and bandwidth. (source: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=11182330)
The scope of this project: placing millions of student grades onto a blockchain (Krypton's or another) is currently beyond blockchain technology. Grades would be entered in great volumes, at the same time. This would require massive transaction speed and massive computing power.
This project is not feasible until blockchain technology advances.

Completed an interview with Territorio Bitcoin. Thank you, Oscar! There are both Spanish versions and English versions of this interview. > English - https://www.territoriobitcoin.com/the-cryptocurrency-market-will-continue-to-be-refined-through-new-real-world-uses-and-new-technologies/ ; Spanish - https://www.territoriobitcoin.com/el-mercado-de-las-criptomonedas-seguira-perfeccionandose-a-traves-de-nuevos-usos-del-mundo-real-y-las-nuevas-tecnologias/

Krypton's Slack is 'interviewing' bots to provide FAQ to the community. Presently, the Luno bot is installed and answering questions in the Krypton Slack #general room. To ask it a question, say something like this: "@bot pizza". You can also ask questions about Krypton but, the bot does serve pizza. Let me know how you like the Luno bot. Comments left on this Trello card are appreciated. > https://trello.com/c/0DTOs7Aa

Spanish translation of Krypton OP updated by @AlvaroBR6, who now has JR status on bct and can post pictures. Thank you. - BitcoinTalk > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1478350.msg14902208#msg14902208 ; BitcoinGarden > http://bitcoingarden.tk/forum/index.php?topic=7606.new#new

KR was added to BlockchainStats.org, a coin tracking site. Thank you, BlockchainStats. > http://www.blockchainstats.org/altcoin-market-data/krypton-market-data/

Krypton's Faucet has successfully been migrated to the Krypton.Rocks server. This morning, there were 150 active faucet users. I call that a success! Thank you, @mobnepal, Krypton Web dev. > http://faucet.krypton.rocks/

Work was begun, by me, on Krypton's Network Stats. If you belong to Krypton's slack (join here: http://slack.krypton.com), you may have seen the many messages of my struggle to get this project working. Fortunately, I'm not one of Krypton's devs yet! I'm just Krypton's founder and project manager. This network stats system was originally intended for use by Ethereum. To modify it for use by Krypton is proving harder to do than I expected. To give me some credit, I've never used Ubuntu or node.js or this eth-net-intelligence-api software before. My background in programming is with corporate database systems (Oracle, Informix.)
If you would like to follow along with my trial and error attemps at setting up this system, you can watch all the details here at Krypton's Trello page for the project. > https://trello.com/c/fNy89Wvt
Have no fear. This project will be completed. I have called in backup. Some of Krypton's other devs have been summoned and together, I'm sure, we will have this feature up and running.

Since I'm in a dev mood, I'd like to toss this to the community: Krypton is always hiring devs to build Smart Contracts. For anyone interested in learning to code Smart Contracts, please read Ethereum's Solidity documents. > https://solidity.readthedocs.io/en/latest/

Finnally, because I like to save the best news for last, Krypton now has a block explorer. It is not the 'kick ass' explorer that Krypton_Dev promised us, (he's been called away on real-life business), but this explorer is enough to satisfy the listing requirements of the larger exchanges like Bittrex and Poloniex. > http://explorer.krypton.rocks

Now, I know you are all very excited to hear about WHEN we are going to these larger exchanges. I'm not going to make the mistake of others and tell you that we are going to Bittrex or Poloniex before it actually happens. I'm sorry. I'm not going to post any of my personal conversations with the heads of these exchanges or tell you anything other than this: I have completed the ID verify process with both Bittrex and Poloniex. This verification, including taking a photo of myself with my real-life ID, is required by these exchanges in order to list a coin. I have done this. Krypton is ready to be added. I will tell you more when I can. Be happy.

On a personal note, I have now fully recovered from the terrible flu that I caught while I was at Consensus 2016 in New York. Yay!

For the next 3 days, I will be working my real-life job. On Tuesday, I will be back working hardcore for you, Krypton.

Please continue to Tweet about $KR and to visit Bittrex's Slack and suggest that they add $KR. (Once per day, please! lol You guys are great!)

Here are some tweets to RT, if you missed them. > Bittrex (44 RTs, 32 Likes) - https://twitter.com/covertress/status/734723717528489984 ; Poloniex (42 RTs, 32 Likes) - https://twitter.com/covertress/status/734730326040252416

Happy Memorial Day weekend, America!

See you all Tuesday!

    2. Yobit

    3. Bittrex
