Elliptic crypto
« on: November 09, 2018, 10:20:07 AM »
Hello, guys! I’am trying to hop in crypto topic, but my occupation is far from IT or math. I’am just curious humanitarian, l believe crypto currencies are the future and we need self-education on this now. Recently a have read an article about generating public keys and digital signatures, I assume it is based on the elliptic curves. But I need more enlightenment on the topic, in simple words - what is elliptic crypto and why is it good/bad. TY

ECC can be used to create faster, smaller, and more efficient cryptographic keys. It is widely used for mobile applications.
But it's also said that some elliptic curves can be vulnerable, so we can't totally rely on it.

ECC can be used to create faster, smaller, and more efficient cryptographic keys. It is widely used for mobile applications.
But it's also said that some elliptic curves can be vulnerable, so we can't totally rely on it.
So, we can take the most productive smartphone and...I dont know...mine for one day and spend gathered for this day currency? (cuz it's not vulnerable) GENUIS!!!!

Mining on phone just will kill your phone, mainly battery. Does it worth it?

Any kind of mining would cause high electricity cost)

Mining from smartphone won't eventually dammage the device, even when it's connected to charger? I think it's dangerous to expose it for such a thing.

I think that in any case when you phone is charging it's better not to run any apps on it. Just let it charge and then continue using it.

I still don't understand.
