    On March 6, Bangkok will host a large-scale international conference on blockchain, cryptocurrency and ICO – Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Thailand. The event will be held at the five-star hotel Pullman Bangkok Grande Sukhumvit.

    Leading experts of the cryptocurrency sector from Thailand, as well as international experts from other countries will speak at the conference. Names and topics of the seven speakers are already known.

    Joseph Tsou is the managing director at BlockEx. He has extensive experience in financial services and he is also a fintech expert. The topic of his presentation is “Basic concepts of blockchain technology and a review of the cryptocurrency sector: trading, investments and ICO.”

    Vladislav Sapozhnikov is a co-founder and CEO of a decentralized cryptocurrency exchange Deex.Exchange. This expert in digital assets will talk about why decentralized ecosystems that use BitShares platform are the future of blockchain technology.

    The investor and CEO of the DAV Foundation, Noam Copel, dedicates his presentation to everyone who is interested in effective investments and ICO. His report “How to evaluate a token” covers many aspects – from the classification of tokens themselves to the history of the DAO foundation.

    Cal Evans is a lawyer and consultant on cryptocurrency agreements at Gresham International. As one of the few experts on international law regarding cryptocurrency, in his report he will cover legal aspect of blockchain projects.

    Keith Lim will talk about trends in the blockchain industry and current state of the cryptocurrency market. The expert manages the insurance service Hearti, which is based on blockchain and artificial intelligence.

    Head of the SyncFab MFG Token Sale project Jeremy Goodwin is a high-tech enthusiast. He is interested in such innovations as additive and advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, cryptography and decentralization. The topic of his speech will be known later, as well as the topic of the report of another speaker – Dr. Jason Corbett – managing partner at the Silk Legal law firm....

    Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Thailand will feature a panel discussion: four blockchain experts will talk about ICO regulation in Thailand. They will focus on possible changes and laws related to ICOs, which could be adopted in 2018.  

    The discussion will involve three blockchain experts from Thailand and their colleague from Hong Kong. Experts specialize in various sectors and represents diverse companies, thus the discussion will introduce several views on the blockchain regulation issue.

    - Sathapon Patanakua (Thailand), MD and Founder of SmartContract and BLOCK MD, a participant of Thai FinTech Association. He is an entrepreneur with extensive experience; a high-tech enthusiast and one of the early blockchain followers. Patanakua has cooperated with leading industry players in financial and healthcare services as well as policy makers in order to help promoting innovative ideas and technologies.

    - Dr. Jason Corbett (Thailand), Managing Partner of Silk Legal (a Bangkok-based law company). He is one of the leaders at International Blockchain Consulting Group; an advisor to ICOBox and other ICO projects. He also speaks at many events dedicated to fintech, blockchain, and IT regulation.

    - Edmund John Lowell (Hong Kong), an entrepreneur living and working in Asia since 2011. Currently, he leads user identification projects at SelfKey Foundation, a fund aimed at supporting new digital identification initiatives, and at KYC-Chain, a service based on distributed ledgers.

    - Alexi Lane (Thailand), Founder of EVEREX (Thailand). He is a fintech entrepreneur and an investor with over 15 years of experience in capital management. He has developed a blockchain-based microlending platform called Everex that collects and analyzes users’ data and creates appropriate financial offers for them.

    Most of the young companies developing blockchain-based solutions are focused on cross-border payments and other financial services. Therefore, the insurance industry is still poorly covered by the blockchain, says Keith Lim, owner of the insurance startup Hearti.

    However, the expert is sure that the technology will change the sphere of insurance in the near future. In an interview with Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference Thailand, he talked on how this will happen, as well as made a brief announcement of his presentation at the event.

    Q: Tell me how did you find out about blockchain. Were you skeptical at first, or did you immediately see an enormous potential?

    KL: I first found out about blockchain around 2012.  At that time, many blockchain use cases were still in very early experimental stage.  However, through progressive studies and better understanding on the technology, I see an enormous potential in blockchain and wanted to develop a viable use case for the insurance industry....

    On March 6, fintech professionals, blockchain experts, entrepreneurs, bankers and investors gathered together on the largest crypto event in Thailand, dedicated to blockchain technologies and ICO.
