Due diligence! Do not limit to read articles and threads!

Do some research. Who are the people running it, what is their level of experience. Think is the business plan make sense and if it can produce a revenue stream, evaluate the competitors, etc.

research on technologies and platforms of that ICO, research the roadmap developed by the engineering department. Regularly track new announcement and to poll the other investors

First of all, you have to figure out what an ISO is, how you can use it and what profit it can bring. Next, you need to find a platform where you can do all the operations. That's all.

Hi everyone, I have the same question as such. I often check on the technology and direction of development of the project

U should create an ICO for a DAO that uses crowdsourced keywords to reckognize the top 3 ICO's every week in a decentralized manner so we can all learn about up-n-cumming technologies without the need 4 middlemen.
U could call it future (without the 'e' of course) and raise 1-150 million in 1-5 days, then use the funds to build a cabin in the middle of the woods and never talk to anybody ever again.
    LuckyToken ICO has already started!

    Only few thing
Are the founders technically capable? Search for other projects the founders have been involved in. If one of the founders is not technically capable, then the co-founders or lead dev/CTO needs to be in order to execute the idea and make up for the lack of technical knowledge of the other team members.
What is the relationship like between the team members and how geographically dispersed are they? Team members with a weak relationship and are widely dispersed geographically introduces a lot of unknowns.
How well can the founders or developers explain their project in plain English clearly and concisely.
Contact the team members with questions through email, Gitter, Slack, etc. with questions.
Try to look for evidence of the team members working together on Gitter, Slack, Github.
    Ignore hot buzzwords.
If you dont undestand the project, dont invest in it.
Be wary of team members who try to fluff up their credentials. Its extremely easy to setup a website and make claims regarding previous experience, projects and achievements. Taking money from friends and family to long/short on Poloniex does not make you a hedge fund manager.
Be wary of people who seem less than capable but link themselves to more capable people to increase their credentials.
