hello,
we are two Italian students interested in the world of Bitcoin and we are working on some projects related to it. We are pleased to announce the release of our first app: BitcoinMap.
BitcoinMap is a free Android app that can be downloaded directly from the Play Store. It allows you to locate every commercial activity that accepts Bitcoin as a method of payment.
This app uses data from the openstreetmap.com users for stores, while it uses Google Maps as map service. You can use it even offline.
Updates require a sporadic download of data, almost negligible.

Main features are:
- Interactive map with clickable markers (normal map and satellite view)
- An updated list with places near you
- A list with your bookmarked stores
- Bitcoin values in different coins with an integrated calculator
- Sharing of a place with whatsapp, sms, and other sharing services
- Store filtering by name
- Multilanguage support
- No ads

Requested permission explained:
- Photo/elements media/files: it's the permission required to access the usb storage; we store offline data in a file using this permission.
- Telephone call: when you display store informations, you will able to call the number reported.

We are developing new implementations but we are working on it in our spare time.

We finally reached 100 downloads! thanks to those who have downloaded and tried the app soon there will be major updates: we are implementing categories, with a filter to select the different types of commercial activities (it will be available in 'Map' and 'Near to you'). Stay tuned!

Bitcoin Map 1.2 is now available in the Play Store!

In this update you can find:

In less than one month Bitcoin Map has reached 203 downloads, with an average of 18 active users per day!
Bitcoin Map has 13 reviews with a score of 4.7 out of 5, placing it as the best Android app to find stores that accept Bitcoin.

We are pleased to announce our first partnership with Coinbit.it!

With the release of the new version 1.2.5 it is possible to buy Bitcoin using the new section "Buy btc" that now appears on Bitcon Map (currently only for Italian users).
There you can find every available method to buy bitcoins, a description of the modes of payment and an updated list of prices; Bitcoin Map then redirects users into the website to complete the order.

We are pleased to announce the partnership with Bitcoin.de!

Users will be able to check the price, the history and the orderbook of Bitcoin.de market, using the section "Buy btc" in Bitcoin Map.
Users that wants to buy or sell btc will be redirected into the website to complete the order.

It will be available mainly for Germans, in German, but also in English.
This update will be released at least in January, with a new version of the App. We will write later a specific date for the release of this feature.

Bitcoin Map 1.3 is now available in the Play Store!

As promised one month ago this update has been released in time, thus the partnership with Bitcoin.de is now fully achieved! This service is available for German users, but also in English.

                   

Users are now able to check the Bitcoin's price, the history and the orderbook of the market of Bitcoin.de every minute, using the section "Buy btc" in Bitcoin Map.
Users that wants to buy or sell BTC are redirected into the website to complete the order.

Due to lack of time we stopped the development of the App, but recently we achieved interesting goals, so we will try to work again on it!
