Ether Cryptocurrency Now Available on the Lykke Exchange

As of today, all Lykke users will be able to trade ether against all other tokens and currencies in the Lykke exchange. Lykke’s engineers are now working on tokens. By end of summer, Lykke will be an ERC20-token wallet and will be able to engage with all smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain.

Ethereum has seen a dramatic rise and acceptance as the base currency for most tokens. With the Bitcoin-based Open-Assets tokens Lykke has offered previously and now the addition of Ethereum-based tokens, Lykke will be able to offer more than 95 percent of all cryptographic tokens on the market. The availability of existing ERC20 tokens and on boarding process for new tokens will be announced by end of summer.

On the 29th of June Lykke held its First Annual Coinholder Meeting. The meeting was devoted to summarizing a year of intense activities. Lykke is a Swiss Fintech company building a global marketplace based on the blockchain. Lena Mechenkova performed as event manager. The main speakers were Richard Olsen, founder and CEO of Lykke, Sergey Ivliev, Lykke’s co-founder and chief operation officer, Michael Nikulin, Lykke co-founder and CTO. Lykke team members such as Thomas Beaver (finance), Demetrios Zamboglou (business development) and others answered the questions. Richard Olsen was very proud to talk on results of the previous year.

Lykke has announced on a contingency plan as to approaching potential Bitcoin Cash (BCC) hardfork. According to a statement published on official site, on the 31st of July midnight Lykke stops all exchange services. To those users who would like to claim BCC on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain after the hard fork, Lykke recommends to withdraw from their trading wallets to any private wallet. If using a private wallet inside Lykke Wallet, BCC can be accessed on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain client through 12-word seed, which can be converted to a private key with the open source tool). Lykke will resume exchange service on 2 August 12:00 GMT. To confirm BTC transactions six confirmations are to be required. As noted by Lykke, they are not sure about BCC support in the trading wallet but the BCC withdraw will be accessible later, even if BCC is not integrated into the Lykke Wallet. The Lykke team recommends their users to take some steps before the split. Should be reminded that recently Coinbase and other several large cryptocurrency exchanges announced their plans according to the following Hardfork.
