Sciatic pain
(1/1)
Wiey:
Anyone got over sciatic pain? I’ve been running with sciatic pain for over 2yrs now. Over that time I have experienced severe pain. How did you fix this? Will I ever be able to run pain free again?
Tove:
Sciatica can and does come back, especially when a person has a chronic medical condition. People who do not make lifestyle changes to prevent more sciatic pain may also redevelop symptoms. However, for most people, sciatica heals on its own within a month or two.
Erika567:
Have you addressed a doctor after the pain got worse? The muscles involved with running are all attached to the sciatica nerve, so it is possible to further aggravate your sciatica by running. What treatment did you go through? What pain relievers do you take? You can read about them on the Canadian Pharmacy site. As far as I know, to cure sciatica permanently, there are two main surgical options - diskectomy and laminectomy. But still, a lot of people treat the condition using alternative therapies like yoga, massage, biofeedback, and acupuncture.
