The Securities and Exchange Commission made a request for information from the defunct cryptocurrency exchange FTX earlier this year, according to the Prospect, which published the news. In March, FTX was one of eight members of Congress who submitted a letter in an effort to freeze the SEC's information demands on crypto businesses. The letter was written by members of both parties. Campaign contributions were given to five of the eight members of the committee by FTX workers.
