Crypto Discussion / Crypto Governance
« on: September 16, 2022, 11:23:44 AM »
has anyone actually tried to dabble in the governance of some PoS chains?
i find it a total shit show, and i'm slowly thinking it might be a buzzword to get you to buy in. here are some of my issues:

1. people who write proposals and people who vote are only the ones who know english. that means non-english speakers are excluded from deciding the future of a project.

2. some proposals are badly written and lack clarity or data. example: there was a proposal on Juno to hold lots of money from the treasury and fund developers with it who migrated from Luna after the Luna collapse. no mention of who these devs are, how many there are, what projects they'll be working on. yet everyone voted yes because it sounded good.

3. someone who doesn't want to be involved in governance and just liked the principles of the crypto project has to accept the fact that the project might be totally different in about 2 years after some proposal he/she doesn't agree with. This makes people micro-manage their money. Not everyone got the time or energy for that, especially if they're invested in more than one crypto and need to follow and read proposals for each crypto.

4. voters need to pay a fee to be able to vote. this means early adopters decide the rules for late adopters who are just observing the space before they get in. that's not inclusive/universal.

ultimately, humans are flawed and a monetary system with governance relies on humans. whereas something like bitcoin has governance that doesn't open the doors to random people to vote on proposal they might not even be bothered to read. also, participants have no idea how much power they vs. the devs have. remember how Solend bypassed the whole governance system to protect a whale from liquidation? does anyone have a case for governance?

Trading / Re: Is it a short break for bear market?
« on: September 15, 2022, 07:04:43 PM »
The bear market is not over so short break or not, it is how you call the latest bounce.

I could be wrong but I think the price we see in last few months is similar to $6k range in 2019. After that Bitcoin has another 50% drop to under $4k in March 2020. I expect to see a same one from $20k to $11k or $13k. In market psychology, it makes sense to wash out all weak hands.

It could occur or not occur but if you are investing into Bitcoin, with a good mind, long term, any price from $20k to $15k is very good to buy in already. Don't find the bottom.

Meme tokens seems to be have this kind of hype, they usually rise without any signal and probably that lucky guy was able to get in early. This is one of the story that many are able to make their money 100x time in profit but then again there's no assurance for this, that project can dump right away and turn into a scam project which means you are risking money for the things that there's no assurance. If you want easy money here, you might be on a wrong market. Well, analyze properly and look for those small tokens, if you think they will pump someday then you can buy, that's your choice and the risk for that is very high.

Crypto Discussion / So the ETH merge has finally happened
« on: September 15, 2022, 06:12:17 PM »
The long awaited ETH merge has finally happened today and thing went smooth as for the merge from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake.
I personally thought that ETH would dump as soon as the merge would happen and I can see that it is dumping in price but slowly.
There were also rumors that a hard form might occur but we didn't see any of that happening.
So what do you guys think, what's next with Ethereum ?

What are your thoughts on this topic?

Is there a market for scanning real life objects and turning them into 3D files on the blockchain.

I have made a video in twitter about this and think this tech could be revolutionary and open up a big new market.

Here is the link to the original ANN thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5382009.0

I will be direct I do not see too much of a need for something like this, but I'm not a visionary, there are many things that have appeared in the market of cryptocurrencies that I found to be unnecessary and despite my opinion they became incredibly popular, so if you really believe in what you are doing you have no other option but to do your best and see if you're actually right and people support your idea that this is somehow revolutionary.

Crypto Discussion / Re: Why is no one worried about this
« on: September 02, 2022, 12:10:10 PM »
We have experienced billions dumped by tesla and i think this is not something that we shall worry about. Remember that if those big bitcoins will be divided into so many creditors. That means if some of them may try to sell if their are disbelief with bitcoin. This time bitcoin is also facing another dump again after slowly and steadily reaching 25k. It seems like a correction or bitcoin will not able to break 26k to go to the another target which was above 26k

Crypto Discussion / Re: Layer 2 or dao
« on: September 02, 2022, 12:09:33 PM »
Lido DAO has a 1,000,000 total supply while Optimism has no max supply but over 4 Billion total supply, this looks like Ethereum to me but do not think that the value can't go over 20$ just because the max supply is infinite at the moment, to me Max supply doesn't matter anymore.

Profit taking is a common thing in crypto trading, shiba meme token holders according to the data you attached they have 0.1% and 1% of the total circulating supply is a high amount, it can be concluded that they are whale traders. Profit taking on meme token in the future will continue again, I won't be surprised anymore at meme token even the decline can be steeper than any popular coins.

Trading / Re: Does Crypto has the power to topple a Government
« on: September 02, 2022, 12:08:38 PM »
Bite me. We talking about the same crypto which is being used freely for criminal activities, which is uncontrolled and billionaires can easily sell us to our death doors if someday they are not in the mood and sold every penny they hold in the bitcoin ? That's a big fear man! With the uncontrolled assets you do get the authority of being boss of your own bank but there are always giants above us who has the power to drive the crypto's direction. Best example is Elon Musk and his playful act of DOGE. Things can really become weird in the crypto space.

Better off keep both assets in harmony. Government is not going to entertain the crypto space and neither there is way to cripple Government with the crypto assets. The only possibility is to have its existence in synch; in similar ways as it is currently

I would guess that it is not about what the ranks are, because most of the projects these days do not have mining or staking, they are just "there" you know? These projects that we are talking about such as btc, eth, etc so forth are all projects that are old and started back when you simply released the project and that was it, these days people literally sell their created tokens for funds to build projects so I do not think that you really need to compare ETH to anything else.

If it becomes POS then it becomes POS, it will be supporting smart contracts if they say it will and there is absolutely no other reason to doubt it and do not need to compare it to anything else.

Trading / Re: Started a 1k to 10k challenge in 20 days and it's going well!
« on: September 02, 2022, 12:07:46 PM »
You’re pretty close with your target and it’s really good to have this every time you trade but better not to put too much pressure and just focus on your trading plan.

I don’t know why meme token is getting another hype right now but if you do with your analysis on that one, then do it beside you’re the only one who knows where to put money here and you have to believe on your own strategy, good luck and hope you can still achieve that $10k profit in just a short period of time
