Ripple, the leading provider of enterprise blockchain and crypto solutions for cross-border payments, announced a collaboration with Bhutan’s central bank, the Royal Monetary Authority (RMA).

According to Japanese financial news outlet Nikkei, the collaboration aims to pilot a central bank digital currency (CBDC) using Ripple’s CBDC Private Ledger.

Bhutan’s current payment system will be integrated with the San Francisco-based company’s distributed ledger technology.

The RMA will utilize Ripple’s sustainable blockchain technology to test retail, cross-border, and wholesale payment use cases for a digital Ngultrum in phases, building on its existing payments infrastructure. This will help it meet its goal of achieving 85 percent financial inclusion in Bhutan by 2023.

According to CEO Brad Garlinghouse, his firm aims to build a platform that would enable various CBDCs to interface with one another.

Speaking on this matter, the pseudonymous developer “Cobra” blamed the whole incident on the security breach of their web infrastructure provider, Cloudflare. Cobra claims that their servers did not get any traffic during the hack hours, but Cloudflare maintains silence on this matter.

Within 20 minutes, Aron’s poll had garnered nearly 10,000 responses. Of the responses, over 70 percent of them were in favor of renowned movie theatre AMC accepting the meme cryptocurrency.

The three are Zygmunt Zygmuntovich, Marat, and Edward Sabirov. It is alleged that the wanted three Finiko founders participated in scamming people to up to $95 million. The victims of the scheme go beyond Russia to include citizens from countries such as Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Hungary, Austria, Germany, and the United States.

Finiko used a network of influencers to lure people into the Ponzi scheme with an incentive of referral fees. The scheme required investors to trade in their Bitcoin in exchange for the native token of Finiko.

The first arrest of the Finiko scheme was of an Instagram influencer Kirill Doronin. Kirill was arrested for fraud charges right after he had obtained Turkish citizenship, probably to flee.

After Kirill’s arrest, more fraudsters linked to Finiko were arrested in September. Those apprehended were Finiko’s vice president Ilgiz Shakirov, together with two women Lilia Nurieva and Dina Gabdullina, who acted as influencers to lure investors into the Finiko scheme.

The three wanted are associates of Kirill and are believed to have relocated abroad. The Supreme Court of Tatarstan ruled the decision for their warrant of arrest in the suspects’ absentia. The three were awarded government-issued lawyers who sought to block the court’s decision to issue an international warrant of arrest for the Finiko fugitives.

XRP holders are going after tech giant Apple for allowing bad actors, which is listed in its App Store. The holders allege that these apps have stolen their assets and information.
Apple is facing a Class Action Complaint from XRP Holders

The victims are not only complaining on social media. The XRP holders have organized themselves and proceeded to file a Class Action Complaint against Apple on September 16th, 2021.

The class action was filed by Hadona Diep, who is seeking justice on her behalf and the behalf of others in a situation similar to hers. Diep is a cyber-security IT professional. The case was filed in the federal court in the state of Maryland.

According to the class actions, the XRP holders are accusing tech giant Apple of allowing and participating in the hacking and breach of financial account information.

Furthermore, the suit stipulates that Cupertino-headquartered smartphone maker Apple authorized a malicious application in the “App Store” and kept it there, despite knowledge of its criminal activity. Lastly, the XRP holders are accusing iPhone maker Apple of failing to notify them that their financial information had been compromised.

The alleged “malicious application” in question is called Toast Plus. According to Diep, she downloaded Toast Plus in March 2020, believing it to be a version of Toast Wallet, a popular cryptocurrency wallet.

The plaintiff initially used to store her XRP tokens on Rippex. After the wallet was discontinued, she transferred all her tokens to the Toast Plus application. The similarity in the logo and the names used convinced her that she was using the Toast Wallet.

After depositing her holdings on the Toast Plus app, Diep soon realized that all her tokens were depleted and her account deleted. Other XRP holders in the Reddit community also started complaining about the Toast Wallet emptying their accounts.
