how come you lost your coins? your address should be the same and your balance should be registered on the blockchain...
What project are you mentioning?
Everytime that something similar happens to me, it is a matter of installing the new version and get the old wallet.dat file there, or in some cases, you don't have to do anything but the installation of the update
don't give up on your coins!!

that is surely some kind of bug or scam... never heard about that coin and besides, if there was any crypto valued higher than BTC, everybody would know about it...
be carefull ...

Crypto currencies are not having an easy moment, so if you trash the immutability of the blockchain, you'll effectively end up trashing the chances for adoption on the next decade...
Some projects have done that, and most of them regret it later on, as this is something that clearly shows that blockchain is not as immutable, transparent and bullet proof as everyone sells

Crypto Discussion / Re: Privacy on the blockchain....a necessity?

more than the practical side you describe, for me, privacy is a matter of freedom... you should have the possibility to choose what remains private and what doesn't.
People often speak about "having something to hide", so would anyone make public all their paswords? will everyone take out their window drapes?
Privacy is being dissolved with digitalization and people don't even realise it
Veil is also one of my favourites... they also have auditability as the basecoin is not private and you can choose the privacy level you want. this will be very important for adoption...
Beam is also a top contender

Crypto Discussion / Re: How many altcoins are you investing in?

well, I actually have 3 ranks, top, medium and low cap with a budget allocated to each one (more on top rank)... then I split it among more or less half a dozen coins... no matter how small the budget is, this has been a good method for me

Nice post! definitely this is a very good method of increasing your investment, but sometimes... the price doesn't come back down ....
Nevertheless I think this is the correct way... to look at the bounty as an investment (it is an investment of work) and check out the project closely before you dive into it

a tricky question... from the already established ones I am choosing LTC, TRX, NEO, OAX token, CVC token
but there are a few rising starts that show a lot of promise, namely Veil, Beam, Veles

well, there will always be hackers, same as criminals ... but I think it is becoming more difficult for them as people get more educated and less prone to certain types of attacks...
On binance it can involve an inside man...
