Gonna visit Greece. Yay! We are flying into Thessaloniki at the end of June and hiring a car from car rental in Chalkidiki. I'd really appreciate some input as we can't decide between Chalkidiki or Thassos? We would like to be somewhere not too busy or touristy and would like to be somewhere beautiful with typical greek villages and a lovely sea with some nice places to eat at that we could walk to. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thessaloniki. Take it! End of September, it will still be warm, but not scorching. See the Thessaloniki forum for things to do. To reach some interesting sites, you will need a car - it's worth it. You can get in from Thessaloniki Car Rental.
If you have done Athens before, keep the car and drive down to Nafplio and stay there for a few days to take in Corinth, Epidavros, etc. It's a bit of a haul but not too bad in September.

Greece! We went to Skala last October (2nd week) and the weather was glorious. A few of the restaurants were closing towards the end of our stay but all open whilst we were there. I`m sure you will have a great time the sea was still really warm, much warmer than the pool. I love this period because everything is very quiet. Also all the restaurants and bars has offer due to end of season so is good value for money. Personally I don't care so much about weather. Sunny days the sea is very warm. Check for big hotels, you can find very cheap packet for this season. You can also check out Kefalonia Airport Transfer.

I`m learning how to surf this summer! It's really fun. I do plan on taking some windsurfing trips this summer to places https://frostfires.com/ where I think there is pretty good wave surfing to so if the wind isn't there I'm hoping to have some fun in the waves instead. What would be a good board size to get for relatively small waves and as a beginner only looking to use it a couple times a year?
