Crypto Discussion / Ethereum Constantinople Delayed To Late-February
« on: January 19, 2019, 12:46:53 PM »
Earlier this week, Ethereum World News reported that Ethereum’s long-planned Constantinople blockchain upgrade fell upon hard times, with developers drawing attention to an error in the protocol’s code, which would purportedly allow malicious attackers to drain ETH from smart contracts.
Per a piece from CoinDesk, the project’s developers met again, determining that the hard fork would activate at block number 7,280,000, likely to be processed on February 27th.

Crypto Discussion / Bitcoin Goes on Sale in 24 French Tobacco Stores
« on: January 11, 2019, 04:46:39 PM »
At least 24 tobacco shops have started selling bitcoin coupons in the French capital of Paris. Widely known as “tabacs”, the stores received regulatory approval for the cryptocurrency sales late last year. More than 6,500 tabacs – representing about a quarter of the registered tobacco stores in France – are expected to start offering BTC coupons by February.
Currently, BTC can be bought in three sums of 50 euros, 100 euros and 250 euros ($57, $114 and $286). In exchange for the euro, the user obtains a ticket containing an alphanumeric code and a QR code. Buyers then have to visit the Keplerk website to convert their vouchers into cryptocurrency of either bitcoin core or ethereum. Keplerk charges a commission of 7 percent on each ticket sold and gives 1.25% to the tobacconist, the company said.

French Language / 1.000 EUROS EN BITCOIN CACHÉS DANS UNE FRESQUE MURALE
« on: January 11, 2019, 04:27:13 PM »

The Internet of Things (IoT) is made up of billions of Internet-connected devices. By using sensors or WiFi, each connected device constantly collects data that it then analyzes and exchanges. This is also known as big data, which can be used for predictive analysis, product marketing and more.
As our world becomes increasingly connected, the IoT industry is growing exponentially. According to Zion Market Research, by 2020 there will be as many as 30 billion devices connected; and the IoT market value is expected to grow to $232.15 billion.
IoT has the potential to offer many economic advantages to consumers and vendors far beyond normal machine-to-machine (M2M) communications (such as your Google Home/Alexa to smart lightbulbs). Other anticipated innovations include the use of IoT to power self-driving cars, power supplies, smart grids, and smart cities. According to a 2017 Cisco report, the M2M connections that support IoT applications are expected to account for more than half of the 27.1 billion devices and connections and will make up five percent of global IP traffic by 2021.

Constantinople will be a significant start on the Ethereum roadmap for 2019. The upgrades will introduce the Casper protocol that will transition Ethereum from PoW (Proof-of-Work) to PoS(Proof-of-Stake).
What will determine the project’s success are the upcoming upgrades to the network.
