Title: Mining KaChingCoin (tech talk and config issues)
Post by: Mark on March 29, 2014, 05:20:29 PM
Okay, so I have started mining your coin via Pool mining. Everything is set, it has found many many blocks and so far 5 have been accepted but I havn't received any coins. Any idea why ? Please see I'm a newbie miner, so I'm not aware of the semantics.

I don't think it is you, hold on. I believe it might be the pool.

Very good! Guess what my next project is. Making the KaChingCoin wallet go "KaChing" when you get KaChingCoins. LOL.

Okay, who owns this pool ? Wanna know because I have heard that some pool owners stop paying or simply runaway. Secondly, I have earned 60 KAC coins from only 15 minutes of mining but they're still counted as immature. So what is this about ?

I do not know the person's name who runs this pool. He runs other P2Pools. This is P2Pool so it is impossible for him to stop paying. If you want to know more, google p2pool and read up on that. The 60 KAC will take about 20 minutes to start maturing. They take a little while to become valid! You got 60 coins because the Network Speed is low, but as more people start mining, the less you will get.

By less you mean ? like half a coin or none at all ? What else I need to know ?

It is all proportionate. Currently the network HashPerSec is 1018511 hashes. If that doubles, the difficulty to mine also doubles. It will then take twice the time to get the same amount of coins. Same if the network HashPerSec halves. Then in half the time you get the same amount of coins.

Oh. Has the difficulty increased because I'm not receiving that fast now ?

No. Although difficulty does matter in the long run, there is some randomness to mining coins. Usually mining averages out in about 3 hours. Due to the nature of mining, You could theoretically find 1,000,000 KaChingCoins is 1 minutes, or not find any KaChingCoins in 6 months. The odds of that happening are VERY slim, 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 maybe? But is is not uncommon to find 100 KAC 1 hour, 90 the next, and then 110 KAC the next hour.

Well this is weird. I haven't received any coins in the past 15 minutes now. So I guess its works like you said.

Should i be worried ?

I wonder if this is an issue with this guys pool. Let me check.

Well then why did my hash rate went up as I increased the number ?

Also is it okay to not receive any coins for the past 30 mins ?

1 thread = 1.90 - 2.05 khash/sec

So now you can do the math when I set it to 2  and then 5.

Secondly, I'm getting a lot of connection time outs in the debug file located in the KachingCoin folder inside Appdata/Roaming/KachingCoin.

Just an FYI for you.

Yes, but it is proportional. 1 thread = 2 KH, 100, 10 threads = 0.2 KH per thread. Connection Time Out is entirely normal.

Yes about 60 KAC in 24 transactions. So payouts are sent after every hour and so ?

Somewhat. Not the in-depth answer, but is probably what performance will show

Okay, thanks for answering my questions patiently and staying late up withe me. I'm still mining on my laptop and getting good payouts. Earned about 230 KAC from 2.5 hours of mining.

Nevermind, forget it. After doing some deep research I have decided to stay with the P2Pools. They're the way to go. Thanks for all your support. I'm locking this thread now. Secco if you want to keep this open for mining discussion, let me know. I will keep it open then. KachingCoin, please bring some P2Pools if you can and not this kind of pools where you have to register and do their shit.

Switched to Cgminer and boom ! Hashrate went insanely high It's currently ranging between 80-90 Mh/s

and now I'm getting my all shares REJECTED so far. Why ? Only happens on KachingCoin. Intensity was 11 when I started and this happened, lowered to 8 and still no change. HELP !!!

I know what is going on. KaChingCoin needs to be run as Scrypt. You will need to use a batch file. Give me any errors you are getting, and I will help you.

P.S.

The batch file needs to contain "--scrypt", that is the issue here.

Title: Re: Mining KaChingCoin (tech talk and config issues)
Post by: KaChingCoin on April 24, 2014, 02:39:08 PM
and what about the hashrate ? Is that normal ?

Hashrate should be 90KH for KaChingCoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, anything scrypt. Hashrate would be 90MH for Bitcoin, or anything SHA-256. The --scrypt command in the batch file tells it to do scrypt.

Understood. Another issue is that the P2pool server is down - http://5.45.108.127:3384/static/

Is it gone or under maintenance ?

All of his P2P servers are down. Seems he's no longer running nodes anymore. You need to get new pools for this coin. One is not enough.

One thing which is bugging me for some time :  Why do I receive only some payouts and not all ? All transactions do appear confirmed in my Earnings sections\ but they're not sent to my wallet and only some are. So why does this happen on MPOS pools ?

Pool username  - mark91.m

To my wallet address generated by myself.

Some are sent, some never get sent to me.

Edit - the MPOS pool is also down as of today.

This also happens on sCoin MPOS pool. So I'm guessing it's a bug within the MPOS pool software.
