Title: Keep your computer and your data safe
Post by: Hadiya137 on April 18, 2019, 04:33:44 AM

As many cryptocurrency investors know to their cost, your cryptocurrency investments can be vulnerable to hackers. Keep your anti-virus software up-to-date and ensure you aren’t giving out your data online if you are storing or investing in cryptocurrencies. It’s all too easy for your precious investment to be stolen otherwise.

If you’re storing cryptocurrency, ensure you have a number of wallets to store it in, and keep the wallets offline if possible. A simple physical device such as a USB drive can be helpful here.

It is REQUIRED to check your computer, if you have crypto wallets installed. A hardware wallet, is the best choice to keep your private keys/seed away from hackers.

Hardware wallets are not cheap. Most of us do not use them. If you store private keys and password at your computer be careful when you participate in airdrops. Never click suspicious links. If you store them at your email, use 2FA for your email.

USB is a simple and easy data storage tool, but to be safe it is better to store in various media such as notes on your cellphone or google drive

That's right, because if we lose data on a USB drive there is still a backup on Google Drive.

This is right keeping your files safe is very important. I have fallen victim to hack, mew have been hacked and what i suspected is by clicking so many links and mostly airdrops link. Looking for penny caused me a big hit but i learnt my lesson and went offline and online when saving my funds.

This s very important it is best to store keys and seeds in a hardware wallet. PC can get damage at anytime by accident or it can be hacked by hackers, choosing other ways to save our investment is more important.

I totally agree with you but Cryptocurrency theft not only happening threw versus in fact the majority of theft happened threw fishy sites and fake emails, so one of the main things to do while in Crypto is to always bookmark your important sites and never ever follow a link from an email you received.

Yup many people in here cannot afford to buy these Hardware wallets that's why many in here have been hacked by phishing sites or any hacking items. The best thing you can do is always store your private keys elsewhere beside your computer, USB might do.

~snip~ what happens if the hardware wallet is lost?

If you lose the hardware wallet, then I am afraid you will lose your Bitcoins.  ;D
Anyway, I think you must be careful to keep the wallet. You should know how to prevent from losing your wallet. I think hardware wallets will be easier to keep than web wallets.

Hardware wallet is good and all but there's always the time when someone is lurking to your address and seeing that kind of activity you are doing, that alone could be life threatening if that evil people is really intending to put your life on danger, therefore you need some kind of privacy coin like veil.
to be honest, bitcoin and other ordinary crypto is really easy to track because they are actually transparent, if you are considering security that much try veil.

It is better to save assets in an offline wallet, such as nano large s, trezor or if it doesn't have enough cost we can store it in the disk

This is good advice. I would add also, to avoid downloading programs from unknown sources. There are many trojans on the network.

If lost, you can say that all of your assets are also lost. Be more careful in saving our wallet, because there is the main place of our assets

They key of keeping an absolute security to your computer is by not leaving traces for hacker to track. I mean it's like using blockchain there's two option transparent blockchain or absolute privacy blockchain like veil that leave no footstep.
Veil is an anonymous coin that could help you  away from hackers that may be lurking to all your activities more specifically is your financial activity, maybe you can check it out in veil-project website so that you can get the grasp of this coin.

Huh.. Btc and Eth transactions are easily trackable, you need a privacy coin to make all your transactions hidden .. an example of privacy coin is Veil
Veil mission is to develop and push the boundaries of cryptographic privacy protocols. Here, a research lab has been established and given the task to develop cryptographic privacy protocols and it is called the "VEIL LAB

Hardware wallets, have a seed, that you can write down, If you buy a new device, you can enter the seed and create the wallet again. To operate the wallet, you still need a PIN. Only if the new wallet owner finds the PIN, before you replace the wallet, you are in danger. Hardware wallets, wipe out the data after some errors, when entering the pin. If this happens to you, you still have the private key to recreate the wallet.

Definitely true, most of the hackers in my opinion are targetting based on your address that can be tracked, if they found a huge amount of money is heading toward your wallet then you need to be really careful since they will more likely trace every details you have and make a phishing site out of it. In this case just use veil a privacy coin that will not let anyone even hacker trace you.
