Welcome to Bitcoin Garden. I'm the admin of the forum and I would like to point your attention on a few common sense rules our users shall follow in order to keep the forum in order. Last update 2019.07.22
We don't like complicate rules and we really dislike censorship, however, when you post, always keep these rules in mind:
THE BIG RULES (If you break these rules, you're eligible for an instant and possibly permanent ban):
- Do not spam, no multiple accounts
- Do not post anything illegal of objectionable
- Do not quote an entire post, quote just the part relevant to the discussion
- Do not use racist, sexist, homophobic or hateful language
- Do not impersonate Administrators, Moderators, or other forum users.
- Shilling bounties are forbidden, it means you cannot post about a coin because of a bounty. This is so bad for the community.
- Do not post full articles from other sites. You can post url and mention some paragraphs, but copying an article/post in full is a copyright infringement and cannot be tolerated.
- No plagiarism: do not copy posts, or part of posts, from other users in this or another forum.
OTHER IMPORTANT RULES (If you break these rules, you're risking being banned. Think before you post):
- Automated translations are not allowed
- Do not post the same topic in multiple boards, choose the most appropriate
- Critics are fine, but no trolling and no personal offence
- Please, no duplicated threads for the same coin/project/matter
- Including links in posts with sole purpose of SEO boosting other sites is forbidden
- Scam reports welcome (there's a specific board), but please post evidences
- Bumping post: you can bump your posts once. You can bump again after 48 hours, but please delete the previous bump
Some boards may have a few extra specific rules. You'll find a pinned board at the top of the board. Please make sure to read it before starting to post.
Every board has one or more moderators. You can find their names at the top of the board. Moderators are your friends, respect them. You can refer to them for problem or assistance with issue related to their specif boards. Beside that, there are some global moderators who are patrolling the whole forum.
ATTENTION: Making a lot of short posts with the sole purpose of scaling member ranking will lead to account deletion without warning! Don't be asshole! : )

Is copying other people's comment in this forum, or copying posts from other forums allowed here? I have seen some accounts doing already.

No, obviously, it is not. It you see such post, please report for prompt action.
It is allowed to re-post information from other sites when it is general interest for the community (example: an article or an official announcement), but with some limitations. Providing a link to the original source is a must, and if the content is copyright protected you can post a summary or quote a small piece of text, but you cannot re-post the whole article unless the author has authorized you to do so.

Thank you. Where should we post plagiarism reports? I do not see a specific thread.

You can use the "report to moderator" link at the end of the questionable post or even better open a plagiarism report thread in this board.

Hi admin. I suppose multiple accounts are still not allowed under no circumstances. Correct? If I open a backup account and do not participate signature bounties through that account, is it allowed?

Normally not, unless you need it for a particular purpose. Example, a personal account and a business account.
But please always remember using multiple accounts for bounty campaigns is considered cheating and will immediately lead to accounts ban without warning.

How can I delete or change my signature? I can't find it in my profile anymore. Does anyone have the right tip or can I read it here somewhere? :-[ thank you
edit: i find it . ;D ;D

- Do not quote an entire post, quote just the part relevant to the discussion
For such means of communication as a forum, this is a necessary rule in my opinion. It is not very convenient to get acquainted with the post and the story in the subject, when users cite completely long posts. And yes, rationality, this is just what is missing not only in this forum, but also in the crypto topic as well as in life.

I want to discuss the regulation on Donation Requests (https://bitcoingarden.org/forum/index.php?board=84.0).
I have seen many threads there with unclear issues and no proofs of serious problems. Since there are no rules there, can I make a rule that everybody who wants to make a donation/charity thread should enclose it with proofs and ensure it is a serious and trusted issue? I don't want any people to commit frauds through charity or donation.
-
Do you think we should add this rule?
Users who are requesting strangers for donations on this forum could only create a thread or make a post in specific board on this forum, users are strictly not allow to create any threads or posts requesting for donations on other boards.

I created a basic set of rules for the donation requests board: https://bitcoingarden.org/forum/index.php?topic=72711.0
In case of private requests, I would leave the user free to explain his own cause. The better it is documented, the more the chance to success in getting some donations. Typically crypto users are pretty stingy, so I don't think there will be abuses, though I'm ready to take actions if that happen.
Also, if somebody ask a donation to buy alcohol or to spend in prostitution, I don't find it offensive or inappropriate. Everybody is free to do whatever he wants, simply there's no chance to get a penny from me.
Different matter is collecting funds for legal associations or NGO. In this case, I think in no case an address can be posted on the forum, as that can lead to scam and abuse. Instead, the users can post the url of the official web page.
This is the first draft of the rules, but comments and suggestions are welcome.

Okay, I understand. I will note and remember everything that you stated above. Thank you, secco. :D

RULES UPDATE !COIN SHILLING BOUNTIES ARE FORBIDDEN!
In simple words, it means you cannot post about a coin because of a bounty. This is extremely unfair, and it so bad for the community because it makes a project look appealing while it is probably not, specially considering the way the team choose to advertise it. Please note there's a zero tolerancy policy for shilling bounties and users found guilty will be banned without warning! Advertising a project via fourm signature is ok.

I have some questions:
1. About signature
Are there any rules to wear it?
Are there signature campaign on the forum?
2. About ranks
From what I read, users are easily to rank up, with their post counts only. There is no restriction on ranking up.
So, how about mechanism to prevent spammers to rank up?
In addition, the details don't contain Legendary rank. How about it?
3. Captcha and questions:
I have to fill them all to make a new post or modify one post. Does it relate to user rank?
Best regards,
Dzung

Rules and size for signatures are similar to the ones used on bitcointalk.
Sometimes there are signature campaigns. Not sure what is going on at this time.

This is a small forum. We don't like strict rules, however spammer are shitposters thinking there is space to cheat, are quickly caught and banned.

999 for Legendary. Updated my previous posts.
3. Captcha and questions:

Yes, it is related to user rank, and helps to protect from spammers.

999 for Legendary. Updated my previous posts.
I much appreciated your answer.
I have one more question/
How about limits on maximum activity points for each period, like 14 days, or there is no limits at all.

Hi! I have a question. Is it allowed to put a link in my signature that is not related to a bounty campaign, for example a link of my website?

There seems to be a problem with staying logged into the forum, I get unlogged every time I load a new page.

Weird. Maybe you're surfing in "private mode" ?
-
I'm not. It's why I was wondering what was happening and I figured to report the problem, in case there was some error in the forum code or something.

Everything looks fine to me. Could you please send me a PM so we can check?

999 posts requirement is tough but only hard working members will achieve this mark.
