Bean Cash (Ticker: BITB & BEAN) is a re-brand of the digital currency and network, previously known as "BitBean" (Ticker: BITB). The "BitBean" blockchain and network began on February 13th., 2015. In 2018 a private company (unrelated to the crypto currency previously known as "BitBean") began using US Trademark authority to usurp the name "BitBean" for it's own use. Pre-empting this action, in late 2017, it was decided by Bean Core and the greater community, to rebrand to Bean Cash to avoid unecessary conflicts. It was the first 'crypto-currency' to implement a maximum of 20MB block sizes, based on Gavin Andersen's proposals to fix Bitcoin's scalability limitations. BitBean was also the first 'cryptocurrency' to pioneer the use of static block rewards in a Proof of Bean (PoB) system -- which now makes energy wasting PoW (Proof of Work) systems, inefficient, expensive and archaic!
Bean Cash inherits BitBean's mature blockchain and rock-solid network, becoming one of the most super-green digital currencies on the market today! While other blockchains continue to hardfork, roll-back transactions, and change their protocol (Bitcoin Segwit), Bean Cash has never had a hardfork or transaction roll-back. Bean Cash (formerly known as "BitBean the Cryptocurrency") had no ICO, pre-mine or swap. Blockchain integrity is one of the defining features of Bean Cash.

These are the the first working Linux binary distributions of the BitBean Wallet, since the the BitBean network went live on February 13th., this year! The 32-bit release will work on older systems that don't have SSE2 support, such as the Athlon XP processors.
To take advantage of the stunning beauty of these new wallets, it is recommended to run them on Linux Mint or other Linux distributions that utilize the KDE desktop environment. KDE itself is built using the Qt framework, the same that is used to build BitBean-qt.
The wallets are available for immediate download for Linux 32-bit and Linux 64-bit architectures:

Recently, we've had some discussion in Bean Core about redefining our image and marketing. One of our goals is to inject a more professional and mature image of Bitbean to our target audience: average consumers (Not necessarily crypto-currency geeks).
Currently our Tagline for Bitbean is: "Bigger..Faster...Stronger!"
Bean Core would like to solicit new ideas for a Tagline. In doing so, we are opening up this process to the wider Bitbean Community (Team Bean).
After some discussion in our official IRC channel #teambean on Freenode (http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#teambean), we've come up with the following rules for the contest:
1.) For each tagline submitted, a reward of 1,000 BitB will be sent to the associated BitBean address.
2.) One tagline entry per BitBean address. We recommend Beaners to submit a maximum of 5 entries each.
3.) Anyone can pay the 1,000 BitB reward, so even those that don't have any ideas for a new Tagline can participate.
4.) Rewards will be considered paid, when a post is amended to a post with a new Tagline along with the originator's BitBean address. An entry will be considered paid when a transaction ID is amended to the Tagline posting.
5.) Entries must be posted in this thread on this forum (Our official forum & Thread): http://www.bitbean.org/forum/new-bitbean-tagline-contest (http://www.bitbean.org/forum/new-bitbean-tagline-contest)
6.) No copies from previous posts, only original taglines.
7.) The contest will be open for one-week from the date of this posting.

An announcement of the new chosen Tagline will be made in this original thread, along with a Twitter announcement 48hrs. after the contest period ends.
9.) A tagline should be short and elicit an emotional reaction.

Distributed Network Promotion Contest
As far as pools go, I am not a fan of them, as they centralize the network. Running your own node (BitBean-qt or BitBeand daemon/server) helps to support the network and that is the purpose of the reward structure (1,000 BitBeans). The SPROUTs are meant to reward those who are providing resources to the network. If everyone put their BitBeans into a handful of large pools, BitBean would become centralized like Bitcoin and Ethereum. Future releases of BitBean will build upon the foundation of a distributed and decentralized network, along with tighter metrics to reinforce the strength of the network.
To encourage users to run their own BitBean node, I will be paying out a 100,000 BitBean reward, for up to 20 unique new BitBean nodes (1 reward per user and node) that are consistently active and sprouting new Beans on the network. This contest will run from now until the release of BitBean (v1.2.0.0RC, target date is in August). To participate in the contest, you must email me your BitBean node IP and associated BitBean address(s) [no latter than June 20th., 2016], which is currently not existing on the network, but is a new node (BitBean-qt or BitBeand instance). After your details are received, Bean Core will monitor your node periodically until the release of v1.2.0.0RC, and if it is found to be consistently active on the network and SPROUTing, the associated address will be sent 100,000 Bitbean when v1.2 is released. After your details are received and it is verified that you are running a new node, if you also attach a screen-shot of your active BitBean-qt node, you will receive 10,000 BitBean immediately. To receive the additional 100,000 BitBean, you must keep your node active until the end of August 2016, or v1.2 is released (which ever occurs sooner). Only the first 20 verified participants will be eligible.

They are holding a lot of user's BitBean, so we have to proceed carefully and do what we can, to encourage them to re-activate their BitBean wallet..once again. From what I can tell, there was over 1M in one of their associated addresses (https://chainz.cryptoid.info/bitb/wallet.dws?81869.htm), which has recently been moved. We are proceeding carefully....I ask all the community to show kindness in your dealings with them over the matter....yes I know, not easy to show kindness to someone holding your money...but when you send your Bitbean to an exchange or pool..you relinquish control over them. Unfortunately, in the crypto community there are a lot of shady actors, let us pray that Yobit (https://yobit.net/en/trade/BITB/BTC) is not one of them and will act in best interest of it's users and it's own self-interest to survive as a "profitable" business serving our communities. I would like to offer some corrections to your review.
There is no Slack. They use IRC instead.
We do use IRC. However, the IRC channel is relayed to our more active Public Live Chat (http://teamchat.bitbean.org) (Firefox is currently recommended.), which utilizes our own hosted HipChat (a competitor of Slack) server, which gives us Live Group Video Conferencing ability - at no additional charge (which we have done a number of times now with the community there) ..and many other features.
The devs are working in the background.
Perhaps the only change would be to add that the devs are working around the clock in shifts (12-18hrs./day) now that we've moved into full-time development.
The Devs are working on a new project management system which will replace the current outdated Roadmap. Projected to be released soon.
They have Live Chat support on the website, but nobody answered when I tested it. Had they answered this would have given them a 4 instead of a 3.
Most (95%) of Live chats on the web-site applet are answered within less than 2 minutes. There are occasional ones that fall through the cracks. The Web-chat option is there for convenience of our users or if they dont' have Firefox and currently unable to access our Public Live Chat (http://teamchat.bitbean.org).
I think it would be worth noting in your review, that we are perhaps, one of the very few "crypto-curriencies" out there, that has a telephone support hot-line: 1 (406) 213-4656

BitB is on Yobit, but we have decided to list them as "Deprecate", until they maintain their BITB wallet in active status for three months or more. Last year they put it in maintenance several times for non-technical reasons (no technical reasons known to us).
BitBean was intentionally created with nearly 2 Billion coins to avoid the fractioning required to use Bitcoin.
BitBean was not created with 2 Billion "coins". BitBean began with an initial PoW and PoS distribution that ended at block 10,000. At that time there were 605,782,000 BITB outstanding. After block 10,000 BitBean became a pure PoS Digital Currency. BitBean had no ICO, IPO, or pre-mine. It was in fact, announced by the original developer a month in advance - here on Bitcointalk, before mining was to begin.
Be very aware when buying of the 2 Billion existing coins. This is probably not a coin that will ever reach $1 in price. It would need to increase 2272 times to reach $1 at the current price.
BitBean was created with the intention of being able to SPROUT for another 93+ years with a CAP of 50 Billion BITB supply! So we are in this for the long-haul!

Will it reach $1 this year? Perhaps that is unlikely. Will it reach $1 per 1,000 BITB this year? Yes, that is very likely. Price is nice and so is volume, but what is more important to me, is seeing our community and network grow. In the last couple weeks, we have seen our network grow nearly 200%! These are new Team Bean members who have taken the time to work through the process of standing up a new node. When our new DNS seeders are operational and the new "wallet" v1.1.2 released soon, it will make the process of standing up new nodes much..much easier than it is now, improving the overall new user experience of BitBean! I project we will have 1,000 active SPROUTing nodes in the coming months!
One of the most exciting features that makes BitBean great, is it's SPROUTing! BitBean pioneered static block rewards, the first in a PoS "crypto-currency"!
If your actively SPROUTing, you can earn rewards (known as "SPROUTs" or 1,000 BITB). Everyone has the same opportunity to SPROUT. We are a "peer-to-peer" network. We don't have "Masternode" schemes that split the network into two competing divisions. We are a single -- distributed, decentralized network in keeping with Satoshi's vision. This is why BitBean is "Strong" and will continue to be, even more so, as we move development forward at an accelerated rate!
I think its worth noting in your review, that BitBean is a mature Digital Currency, that is over two years old and has never had a hard-fork or black-listing of transactions.

The Executive Board of Directors, of Bean Core has reached a consensus to re-brand BitBean for the upcoming release of v1.1.2 of the reference implementation. Bean Core is proposing to the BitBean community, here-fore referred to as "Team Bean", that BitBean is re-branded to "Bean Cash".
With a renewed focus, "Bean Cash" is a digital currency and peer-to-peer network. Its primary application is to be used as a store of value and a medium of exchange -- both on-line (Internet transactions), in-person transactions, or with merchants at the Point of Sale/Service (POS).
This change also mitigates issues of trademark disputes and confrontation, as the new name change references common names used in the public domain. BitBean is based in large part, on source code from Bitcoin, which is in the public domain. As core developers of BitBean (the digital currency, not the company), Bean Core Executive Directors believe, that re-branding preemptively mitigates moves by private companies that may try to lay claim, of rights to BitBean (the digital currency).
BitBean has existed for over 2 1/2 years as both a digital currency and a solid-secure peer-to-peer network -- without a hard-fork or transaction rollback! It has continued to be developed and maintained by Bean Core during this time. As stewards, we propose these changes, with the coming release of our v1.1.2 Core reference platform:

An Update on v1.1.2.2: We're going to be building our new release with Boost v1.6.1 & OpenSSL v1.1.0 deps. Because the current OpenSSL deprecated referencing Bignum support from the stack (now requires pointers), we're going to remove OpenSSL Bignum dependencies. Using these newer deps. will bring Bean Cash more up to date and more secure. These changes are important to implement and test properly. This will require more time.
I realize I set a target for Oct. 25th., for the Beta, but there is still important work to be done to maintain and enhance, the integrity and security of the network, before new code is released onto it. I know many are anxious for the Re-Brand to Bean Cash with the v1.1.2.2GA release and your patience is appreciated.
BitBean, soon to be Bean Cash, is a mature digital currency (and rock-solid network, going on nearly 3 yrs. old..without a hardfork), with a lightening fast transaction network, capable to support over 1,300 TPS! A strong, secure foundation for real-world transactions is being laid.

Bean Cash network is growing. More BEANs are being SPROUTed. The network is getting stronger. This is the reason for the rise in difficulty. More BEANs will be required to maintain the same level of SPROUTing as difficulty continues to increase. The positive side to this all, is that the price is dropping, so it is easier for more people to purchase more BEANs to SPROUT. The price drop may not last, but I won't speculate on what the market does.

Some Updates:
The Bean Cash Mnemonic Converter for HD keys and wallets has been updated. This update provides support for Bean Cash (BITB), with fixes and is now integrated into the Bean Cash website (https://www.beancash.org/MnemonicConverter.html) The converter can be downloaded for offline use as well. Testing and feedback on this service can be sent to: [email protected] Please put "Mnemonic Converter" in the Subject line. The service is provided by Bean Core and is free to use by the community. Future updates will include multi-language support and support for the new BEAN class (launching in 2021).

A Bean Cash HD wallet (currently only for Android) is available on our downloads site: https://www.beancash.org/downloads.html Located on the Right column under "Mobile Light Wallets". Bean Core will be releasing an updated Android wallet in the near future (v1.3 RC). Currently our Electrum Network that provides services for the Android Light Wallet is undergoing an upgrade and will be back online in a week (projection for synchronizing and rebuilding the databases).

If you run the new v1.3.2.1 and you are on the wrong chain, it will close. In that case, follow the instructions on the bottom of the page for getting and installing a SnapShot: https://www.beancash.org/downloads.html (https://www.beancash.org/downloads.html)
1.3.1 (or any older version before it) should not be used anymore (especially to sync the chain). Since we didn't have a majority upgrade to v1.3.1 in time (over 2 months notice was given), we stayed with the majority and followed the longer chain (up until August 2nd.) v1.3.1 started enforcing the new timedrift rules on July 13th., but there was no blocks violating the new rules until shortly after July 19th., when a block was created more than 10 minutes too early. Since at that time we still didn't have a majority of nodes upgraded, we had everyone stay on the long chain. By the beginning of August we had a majority of nodes that had updated to v1.3.1 and v1.3.2 (which started enforcement of the new time drift rules on August 2), since that time the majority of the network was now enforcing the new time drift rules and the majority of nodes stayed on the chain following the new rules. v1.3.2 not only started enforcement of the new rules, but also no longer synchronizes with old nodes (those running before v1.3.0.0). v1.3.2.1 reverts a change that was impacting network performance and introduces a new Proto version, which will lock in the protocol changes when the majority is running v1.3.2.1. Once we reach a majority running v1.3.2.1, v1.3.3 will be released, which will once deployed, eliminate the orphans being generated by the old nodes and complete the network upgrade
