Madbyte coin is currently being mined with the wallet (CPU power) only, so get in on the mining before a pool and the ASIC miners arrive!

MINING WITH YOUR COMPUTER USING YOUR WALLET ONLY:
If you are interested in trying to mine it with your computer CPU,
- download the wallet and run it.
- Once you have it open go to the Help menu at the top
- then select "Debug window"
- then the "Console" tab..
- Type at the bottom: setgenerate true 2
- To see if your wallet started mining type in: getmininginfo
- If your hashespersec is higher then 0 then you have started mining. It should read something like 2018 or 4471 or 8044 or something else, the higher the number the quicker you are mining.
- The more CPU cores you have the higher it mines if you change your setgenerate true 2 to 4 or 8.. if you have a quad core CPU try 4.

I am the one that made the coin for madbyte.com (but I am not the one who runs it).  I don't believe he has any social media accounts out there for the coin specifically yet.  He is trying to do this launch quietly to let cpu miners have some fun mining before the heavies start.

The code is just a clone of litecoin v8 core code.  I did not specifically disable anything, so if getwork is not there, it's not in that litecoin version either.

Madbyte coin first and foremost could be considered as an investment tool. Whatever we plan to do has to have that thought in mind.

So that said.. Our MadFund will be our centerpiece. Everything will revolve around it. In this way the fund is more important than the coin itself. Without the fund the coin would be useless and without any real purpose or value.

The Madfund is an investment fund that is owned by the coin holders and in many ways controlled by the investor. We believe every investor should have a say, though we will have checks and balances to make sure there is no abuse by a large investor scamming the fund to invest in a crap coin for their own benefit.

Most of our premine will be placed into the MadFund and will be released over a several year period. As the premine becomes depleted, other methods to replenish the fund of its mbyt coins will have taken effect.

Each month going forward we will be releasing a small portion of the premine for sale. Any money raised from selling coins will be placed directly into the MadFund. We will keep a watchful eye that we are not depressing the coin with these releases. But ideally, it will be easier for new investors to jump into the coin quickly. These investors would most likely become long term holders. This allows the MadFund to grow in the short term.

Many of you know that NovaExchange will close trading on February 28, 2018. As of a few days ago they put a stop to new customer signups on the exchange. This will affect madbyte in the short term significantly, as new investors will not be able to buy coins without purchasing direct from a mbyt holder. We are looking at different options for short and long term on this front.

Current mining of the coin has not been smooth sailing as we have miners push the difficulty higher and then leave. They return back again to mine hard once the diff is about to drop. Once they have mined they dump all the coins into the buy orders. From the positive side investors get plenty of new minted coins from the miners. But we are also looking at some solutions to address the irregularities of mining… more on that later.

We will also be releasing news on a regular basis on what is happening and what we are up to.

On Nov.1st we started putting together a few thoughts on what is happening with Madbyte Coin and the direction we are taking. We mainly chatted about the Madfund. This time our focus is on how the fund is controlled and who gets a say in how it is allocated as well as what new things have happened in the last couple of weeks.

We are working on launching an update to our website. This should happen before the end of November. You will be able to see a few of the core members with their real names and bios, not just our nicknames as well as better explanations of what we are about.

So who controls the Madfund we spoke of last week? The actual coin holders will control it. The larger your holdings are the more say and voting power you will have. Also, the longer you hold your coins in a wallet address the more control you have. The Madfund encourages holders to stay in for 1 year or more to gain real power. On Dec.1, 2017 we will talk more about what we mean by larger holdings.

So what are we looking forward to going into the last month of the year? The release of a new website, our membership site, and our first private investment phase.

As we have entered the holiday season the crypto space is becoming mainstream. Just 8 months ago none of the large media outlets like CNBC were talking about Bitcoin. Now we are seeing reports daily on CNBC. Early 2017 most of the predictions for Bitcoin to end the year were in the $2000 to $4500 USD range. For it to hit $4500 was considered a real stretch. Will we see the year ending with highs of $12,000?

Today we will be releasing our new investor portal allowing Madbyte coin holders to become members and get rewards. The website can be found at MadCapX.com. Without membership you are not privy to what really matters. You will be able to climb higher and gain access to more internal plans using our multi-tiered system.

The membership area will feature MadCaps and MadNodes as the first two reward programs. To become part of the MadCap multi-tiered system a member will need to hold a minimum of 8,000 MBYT coins. To become a Partner and get a higher percentage reward, members will need to hold 50,000 coins or more. Each level has more privileges. The MadNodes help secure the coin so we also give monthly rewards for keeping a node running on the Internet.

The year has not even come to an end and we already saw BTC go briefly over $19,000. On Dec.25 many families will sit down for their Christmas dinner to share stories and I believe some of those stories will be related on how to invest into cryptocurrencies. Will we have one more big swing before the end of the year?

Today we are releasing a newly revamped madbyte.com website that will give the general public a better picture of our coin and a little more about our fund. There is also a team section where a few of the people behind the coin are seen with actual real names and short bios. As typical in the crypto space, not all the madbyte team members are profiled as they enjoy working behind the scenes. Thanks to everyone who has contributed in any way.

In our private members section of the MadCapX.com website will be adding a new feature that allows for larger coin buyers to purchase directly at a set price. It is a limited buying opportunity for madcap members and their friends. Though we encourage everyone to use the exchange we currently are on. But at the same time anyone buying directly off the MadCap panel assists the MadFund.

A Mac wallet has been released for Apple computer users so we now cover Windows, Linux and Apple. If someone is interested in compiling other wallets such as a Raspberry Pi wallet we would be grateful.

First of all, we want to wish everyone a fantastic 2018! The last few weeks had us watching BTC to see if it breaks the $20k barrier or drops below $10k… what a ride that was. Since there are so many different forces that can sway crypto, I expect more of this to happen in the new year.

Is cyrptocurrency the fast food of the investment basket we hold? A couple of months in  cryptocurrency seems like a lifetime in comparison to a “normal” investment. Predictions are all over the place and eventually you just stop looking at the deluge of news bites proclaiming glory or doom. If you are investing and testing the waters, the more you can study and experiment, the better you will do.

On our site, Madbyte.com, we have started putting more effort into our blogging. One of the posts from last week was profiling how someone had invested $500 and turned it into $100,000 over a one year period.  The article brings up day trading, the 5% rule, the terms “hodling”, “buy the dip” among several others.  It is important to learn as much as you can but also be sure to start small and test the techniques you have learned before venturing forth with larger risks. Novaexchange.com has gone into half shutdown mode by not allowing deposits or new users, but has announced that they will be back in business very soon. CoinsMarkets.com has been in “Server Maintenance” mode for many weeks now as they updated servers and work on getting proper hosting figured out. Outletbit.com is completely down as they update their platform. In the crypto space the saying goes “don’t ever leave more on an exchange than you are willing to lose”. We are actively looking for more exchanges to get listed on in the near future.

As we wake up to a new month on the crypto calendar, Bitcoin has slidden to a low of $8800. I personally have been waiting for this correction for a couple of weeks. Will it go as low as $7500 and how much will it affect the altcoins? Will coins like Ripple go under a dollar and never return? Who knows.

The Madbyte mining pool has changed locations and now has its own domain at mbytpool.com. It was moved to a better server which is able to handle more miners. We also upped the mining difficulty limits to better serve larger mining rigs. Check out http://mbyt.cryptocronic.com/stats/ to get the latest numbers for our coin. If you are interested in trying to do some mining of your own, go read our blog post at http://madbyte.com/blog/mine-cryptocurrency-without-hardware/ as this will get your feet wet before going out to buy a miner.

For the month of February (at least), we will be quadrupling the reward for running a MadNode! If you wish to support Madbyte security, you can you run a wallet 24/7 as a node. MadNodes are separate from MadCap holdings. You can choose to have one or the other or both. Each gives their own independent rewards. Though, to do this you do need to be at least a MadCapX.com Junior Member.

Once you are a Junior Member on the site you will notice that more info is available. As you move up the tiers to Partner level and higher the benefits increase (and not only in rewards).

Soon Madbyte will be available on a new exchange.  More info to follow once it’s official. We are listed on NovaExchange, but they have been closed to new users and deposits for quite a while now. We understand that they will soon be open again under new management.

Today this newsletter is being composed in Casablanca, Morocco. Did you know that the currency in Morocco is called Dirham but their country currency code is MAD. This is where the Madbyte coin goes on vacation.

BTC is starting to knock down the $10k upper resistance levels… instead of the downward movements we’ve been having. Our own MBYT coin still has very little movement on the open markets but as the coin gets more visibility the more upside we should see. 

In the last week or so Madbyte was added to a new crypto exchange called CoinsControl.com. There has been some volume already on their. As with any exchange we would advise to test out the platform before moving large amounts of coins to it. The safest place for your crypto is in your own private wallets.

Occasionally, our developer, cryptocronic, gets bored of working on only the serious stuff, so he's added a "Fun" tab to the links box in the member panel. Here you will find links to 2 mini games, Coin Field and Simple Slot Machine.

Coin Field is basically a faucet where you have 5 moves per day to try and collect coins from the field.  You will see your avatar along with everybody else's here.  By default, everyone will show up as anonymous and with the default avatar.  This can be changed from your profile page.  In order to move around on the field, you MUST enable "Allow others to see your nickname" in your profile.  Selecting an avatar is optional (but recommended).  Once you see the arrows surrounding your avatar on the field, you can click on the arrow in the direction you want to go.  Move over coins to collect them.  Your "Moves remaining" resets to 5 once a day, although you can buy more by clicking on the "Get 5 more moves for 1 MBYT" link at the bottom once you run out.

Simple Slot Machine lets you pay 1 MBYT to try and win payouts if at least the first 2 images match.  The five images are selected randomly from a group of ten images.  Be careful, you can quickly lose more than you win with this game.

Both games take payments out of your currently accumulated rewards. Similarly, payouts are added to your currently accumulated rewards. Good luck and have fun!

March of last year we launched Madbyte Coin, so now we are celebrating our first birthday! In that time period we launched our MadCapX.com membership site, introduced MadNodes,  the MadCap multi-tiered rewards program, the private MadFund, our own mining pool and a couple of small coin games inside the panel. Let’s see what the next 12 months bring.

In your MadCapX.com profile page you will notice three additional fields for Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum wallet addresses. These are for future reward use but feel free to fill them in as you never know when the first alternate rewards might drop.

As many of you are aware, our reward system does not use fixed values. In the near future you may see additional bonuses coming from our MadFarm mining initiative. The MadFarm is still in alpha startup mode but you’ll definitely be hearing more on this a bit later.  We will be continuing to keep our MadNode rewards at about 387 MBYT per month for the next few months while we are still considering also raising the MadCap rewards.

A common issue that arises in membership sites is that sometimes members sign-up but end up not participating.  We have a few members that have pulled out of their MadCaps and still others that have never even logged in.  So to keep our system streamlined we will begin setting such member accounts inactive starting this month.  A warning email will be sent out to those members before we do this.

This newsletter has been going out twice a month so far. The intention on January 1st was to change to only sending it out on the first of every month but we kept neglecting to announce this. So starting now, we will only be publishing once per month. For the most recent information, join our Discord or Telegram channels.  For those on Discord look for our Admins, Founders or Associates to give you more insight into our coin and what is happening.

It is crypto coins and tokens that have set the financial world on alert. Today there are more traders in the markets, not using brokers, than ever before. Remittance companies like Western Union are not keeping up and I might even speculate that they are going the way of Kodak. Are IPOs going to become ICOs with Morgan Stanley and company fighting it tooth and nail as they are not getting a piece of the action? Is the Bitcoin wallet on our smartphones replacing CitiBank? And on and on the story goes...

In March, we have been testing out what could come of a project we have called MadFarm. In simple terms it is about mining cryptocurrency coins. Since Madbyte coin is decentralized as most others are and does not have any significant technological differences from other scrypt-based coins, without any projects or companies that use it, it would become a dead coin. MadFarm is a separate entity from Madbyte and aims to become profitable from the beginning. Though it is separate, it is built on utilizing the Madbyte coin in several ways that relate to the various MadCapX projects.

Our hope going forward is to assist in supporting projects around the coin. Here are some of the projects and a tentative timeline of where they have landed or we anticipate them landing in the next three months.

2017 4th Qtr.
- beta release - MadCap multi-tiered rewards program for coin holders
- beta release - MadNodes to assist in security of the coin

2018 1st Qtr.
- alpha release - MadFund - a platform for fund managers
- alpha release - MadFarm - testing of multi-location remote mining / AI mining

- work on creating the Madbyte Foundation
- rolling MadCapX into a corporation

Two more exciting quarters in 2018 will bring us some more great stuff in the pipeline. We are looking forward for a bit of craziness with a sprinkle of madness in this new crypto space.

One thing we learn with altcoins is to wait. It may be development or getting on that special exchange or a swap that is happening “soon” or just waiting for a coin to pop in price so you can make some profits. But when the waiting is over... oh, how it feels nice to get rewarded for hanging on!

Hopefully this is the month we will see NovaExchange.com opening their deposits again after the new owners have settled in.  MBYT will be getting listed on at least one, but possibly two, new exchanges this month. One of them being a decentralized exchange.  More to come on this later.

If you run a MadNode, you’ve probably noticed that we continue to keep the reward at the higher level which we introduced months ago.   Still no plans to change this. We have also opened up more MadCap holding slots for users to fill up. The more MBYT you hold in your wallet, the more you gain per month as long as you are a MadCapX.com member!

In the Madbyte Founder chats we have the opportunity to see things a bit differently than someone who is new to our coin. The chats are about exchanges we could get on, new potential madbyte coin uses, our community, price predictions, but most importantly pushing us all to get the coin to greater heights. As with any organization or business, it is the people that are the most important.

This past week Novaexchange.com re-enabled BTC deposits so you can trade MBYT again!  Unfortunately, new member sign-ups and MBYT deposits are not enabled. Madbyte was added to the Bisq.network app so now you can purchase MBYT with many fiat currencies directly.  Bisq is a decentralized trading platform and takes a bit to figure out. Our coin also was added to Biten.trade in May, a new small exchange with potential. CoinsControl, CoinsMarkets and Outletbit continue to have technical problems and are mostly unusable.  We hope they can resolve their issues soon.

Bombs, mines, speed potions, insta-forts and very rare chests have been added to our coin field member faucet.  If you haven’t tried it yet, make sure to check it out. You get a minimum of 5 moves a day. No need to spend any of your reward to play, only if you want extra fun.

We have a MadCapX member who is making a few video tutorials on how to use the member panel.  Check out the first video on our youtube channel at http://madbyte.com/youtube/  These videos will be great for any new members who are needing some help.

When building a house there are times when it seems everything is going up so fast but then it slows down to a crawl. It usually takes only a day or two to get the outside walls up and then you get into the finishing work and it all slows down. Portions of the MadCap project that some are waiting to be released are still being worked on.  In June, we have been advancing in our community size and made some small additions but not as much as earlier.

Our referral contest from last month did not go as planned as we had hardly any participation, but perhaps that is to be expected as we did not invest into advertising it and the fact that all cryptocurrencies have been experiencing a major slump recently.  Summer time seems to have a tendency to slow the crypto market down even more.  But do not despair, crypto is still in it's beginning stages.  In years from now, buyers will wish prices still went this low.

Since early 2017 we watched BTC dominance go down from 85% to 32% by January 2018. Today it is back up to 52% with many alts losing ground in 2018 to Bitcoin. Are we seeing a trend back to the gold standard of BTC as we weigh which alts will have staying power into 2019?

Madbyte coin was listed on Bitexbay exchange in August. Since they are a new small exchange we would like to give a word of caution when trading. There’s been several smaller exchanges in 2018 that have not survived that we have been listed on and several traders have lost coins. So in general, don’t keep coins on exchanges unless you are trading.

The mbytpool.com has increased the variable difficulty range for mining Madbyte, Shilling and Trade coins. The fees that are collected on that pool go toward the development of further Madbyte projects. If you are a miner of Shilling, Trade, Madbyte or CWIS, we would like to thank you for the support.

A leaderboard showing top ten members who have picked up coins and committed acts of violence is now available on the bottom of the coin field page. Have fun challenging other members, seeing who can obtain the higher scores. Scores are reset on the 1st of every month (but the previous months scores will still be shown beside the current months scores). We may choose to give MBYT rewards at times to the top players.

As activity has decreased in our MadMarket area, we have decided to open up ad posting to members that are "Partner" level or higher. Investing shouldn’t be a one time event. Making it a monthly habit to invest a portion of your income is a good thing. How much to invest and where? You should target to save and invest at least 10% of your paycheck. Where to invest is something you need to decide. Investing in cryptocurrency can be high risk but with that risk there may also be high reward.

If you have $1000 invested in an average bank savings account it pays out annually about 0.06%, translates to $0.60 in profit in one year. You can get a better interest rate if you lock it in for a term. Something like 2.5% or $25 per year. Hand it over to a broker and you might get 8% or higher depending on your risk tolerance. These are the traditional investment avenues most people take.

Then we have the home grown traders that invest in their own portfolios and trade stocks, forex and other assets. Some enjoy trading long and others are day traders. With crypto assets a whole new breed of traders have popped up. They can trade 24/7 and be 12 years old and never have to reveal their true identity. It is a truly global marketplace of assets.

Crypto assets number in the 1000s and most have shown up in the last couple of years. Several of the crypto coins or tokens have great teams of developers who are inventing a whole new financial playground that so far seems unstoppable.

Beating the traditional markets is a common story that is played out daily. I remember someone saying in 2016 that it is not about percentages but about 3x or even 5x profits on one trade. The crypto market in 2018 has settled somewhat and has become less volatile. But yet the future of investing into crypto and being a trader has a ton of reward and we believe great potential.

We are changing the name of the MadFund within the MadCapX panel to be called Portfolio in December. This change will represent this project better than using the word Fund. We don’t want people to think we are attempting to have a hedge fund or a mutual fund that holds your crypto. Access to the Portfolio will be limited for now to only a few beta testers. Those in the MadFund will be moved into the new Portfolio system in the coming weeks.

As most of you know we are listed on Nova Exchange (https://novaexchange.com/market/BTC_MBYT/). They are finally opening up for new user registrations on December 3rd. This is great news for those who have wanted to do some MBYT trading.

BTC continues to be bearish. Could we expect this sort of bearish market to continue in 2019? At this rate Bitcoin will be under $3000 USD by the New Year or sooner, let’s hope for some near future bullish action. Madbyte Coin (MBYT) has been trading between 4 to 7 sats in November on Nova.

Happy New Year!! This is the year that so much more will be happening.

So, a quick recap of 2018 and a few thoughts about 2019 are in order.

Bitcoin price was the biggest story as it was at a high of $16,600 in January and a low of $3,170 in December. Some bullish predictions for the price had it at $100,000 by the end of 2018 (by Saxo Bank). But to be fair, their prediction was done in January when everyone else also expected it to hit all time highs of $35,000 to $75,000. On the bearish side, the popular YouTuber Tone Vays was predicting that bitcoin might bottom in the $1500 area. Though Tone did not give a timeline for that, he did state this prediction while BTC was still fairly high. Recently, many others have come out and followed Tone’s thoughts that we might see $1200-1500 before we see all time highs again.

Miners and mining companies went from boom to bust. Bitmain seems to have taken the brunt of the bad news, a few mining farms closed their doors and also some individual miners turned off or sold their miners for lack of profits.

In 2018 our Madbyte Coin ranged in value from a high of 400 satoshis to a low of 3. In December the high was 13 sats and low was 3. You can trade our coin on Nova Exchange.

Our main purpose is still our investment platform, which we now call MadFolio. It will allow MadCapX members to subscribe to triggers that will create a trade for them. Our founder level members will soon have access to the beta version.

The average home miner will struggle to be profitable or recoup the cost of mining hardware and electricity. Profitability is highly unlikely given the current circumstances. The situation may improve in future once ASIC mining hardware innovation reaches the point of diminishing returns.

With an extended bear market comes layoffs. On a regular basis we hear several ICO tokens with great looking white papers and roadmaps now shutting down. Our industry is going through a much needed cleansing of the junk that a speculative bubble brings with it. Though there will be some gems that survive and will thrive in the years to come.

The Madbyte wallet has had a minor update in the last month. We encourage you to grab the latest from github. It is not a requirement but good to have. We have no plans in 2019 to swap or fork the coin. But if we do, we will give everyone several months lead time and also consult with many of you if a change is even needed.

The MadFolio continues forward as we add new features. There is plenty to do and more features to add before we are out of beta but it already works as intended.

Many crypto projects aim for large communities and huge amounts of capital for marketing. We are not interested in a large community when it relates to our membership in MadCap. We aim for quality in terms of max amount of profits. If we have too many partners or founders the profits will dilute; on the other hand if we do not have enough the synergies of our system will not be fully realized. This might disappoint those who are interested in doing what so many misguided ICO projects have done.

As we successfully develop and test our systems, we layout an ever brighter future. Let not our mislead intentions create roadblocks that force us to abandon ship but instead teach us to build higher and always look ahead.

If you are new to trading go read and listen to as much information you can get your hands on. It is easier to lose then make gains. Invest only the amount you are willing to lose. Do not trade your whole amount of bitcoin into one single asset. Learn some technical analysis skills and do not rely on just a feeling or a hunch. Avoid listening to the noise on social media about an asset as that is a sure way to lose. Create trading rules for yourself, stick to them and don’t get greedy.

Last month one of our founder level members released ecoinbot.com, an arbitrage crypto trading bot platform. As he is one of our own, he released the beta version and the first payment method was the madbyte coin. Thanks Timo for putting us first.

Are you investing in Bitcoin and the crypto market? Each day it seems that something new is happening, such as the exchanges expanding or releasing new product offerings. A few cities accepting crypto for your tax bill. A company deciding to pay employees with crypto. Banks and credit cards continuing to try to ban investment buying of Bitcoin. Federal agencies hiring blockchain experts around the world. ETFs still not getting a pass in the US.

Many continue to invest, or some would say speculate, on a crypto coin they believe in. With hopes to strike it lucky by doubling their money overnight. Many who step in to invest without very much knowledge or time to look deeper usually lose.

Here is an example of four coins that have had some good upward movement.

Bitcoin (BTC) is going into its 9th week of upward movement. About +23% or $800. Since its low in December it is up a little over 30%. That amount sounds pretty good but yet looks more like it has just been going sideways compared to several other crypto coins.

Enjin (ENJ) took a wild swing up of about 700% in February and peaked early March and now has lost about half from the high in the last several weeks.

Binance Coin (BNB) started a bull run early Dec.2018 and has yet to slow down. Currently up over 240% since starting.

Litecoin (LTC) has also been on a bull run since early Dec.2018 with gain of over 110% and only a few slight pull backs in between that time.

Timing to buy at a low of the market is not easy and most traders do get it wrong and never see returns like these above. Though some do and others are interested in trying. In this newsletter. we would like to discuss some thoughts and alternatives going forward with the development of the Madbyte coin and the use-case potential. We will also look at the ideas behind MadCapX and where it is going.

Some of the questions we have asked ourselves in the past few years are: should the coin change to something else, should we upgrade the code base or should we just swap it. We have considered Proof-of-Stake (PoS), masternodes or even swapping to an ERC20 token. The possible token idea would allow us access to ready-made mobile wallets and exchanges. A masternode coin was a thought in late 2017 but ended up not being ideal at that time. A few reasons we would consider upgrading or swapping is to make the coin more secure, accessible and enhance the current use-case. This, in turn, could bring more value to the coin. We could also change the max supply if we did a swap or burn some of the remaining pre-mine.

Currently, the main thing that Madbyte coin is used for is to gain membership into the MadCapX.com platform. That platform rewards you monthly with coins for hodling. The main purpose of the platform is for traders and investment in the crypto space. As a crypto investor, you could use it to solo trade or allow others to follow your trades. This will allow you to create your own family and friends trading group or fund. We will continue to develop this platform.

As we look at what Polymath is trying to do with security tokens and the future possibilities of regular stocks becoming tokenized, we see the potential of MadCapX being a platform connecting to several exchanges and allowing us to trade almost anything.  Could there even be future potential for our investment platform to assist companies with security token releases in partnership with the likes of Polymath?

Here are a couple of tidbits on what is happening with other coins.

Litecoin (LTC) mining reward is halving around August 7th, 2019. Have we seen the price increases in LTC in the last few months already price in the halving or is more value increase going to happen?

Ethereum (ETH) continues to look at upgrading to the Casper Protocol that changes ETH from PoW to PoS. They failed once in getting it done which might be affecting their current low value. If they are successful will that boost the value?

Our coin is on Nova Exchange based in Sweden. Since the change of ownership in 2018 they have not allowed US traders on the platform. This past month they sent emails to some Canadian users to withdraw funds as they won’t be allowing US or Canadian residents to trade on the platform. Madbyte core team is based in Canada and we are disappointed with this news. Many of us have already withdrawn our coins from the exchange. We are looking for alternatives.

In just one month Bitcoin is up over 60% while LTC and ETH are going sideways. It is incredible how things can change. Because of this upswing, the estimates to where cryptocurrencies and specifically where Bitcoin are headed, are all over the place.

If BTC value continues to go up over the next few months we will also have more news coverage which in turn would bring more people into crypto. But even if it is easier for you to get some BTC or LTC, it does not mean there are places you can use it. We are still far from mass adoption. Once you see major cryptocurrencies accepted like a credit card, we will have arrived.

Will mass adoption happen first in countries that have their currency pegged to the US dollar or where there is out-of-control inflation? Will bitcoin be like Linux where the hope was that the OS would become competitive against the desktop but instead it became the backbone of the internet. Now it runs almost all the online servers.

Many are betting on major changes in the next several years to the financial system. Some things we do know, we are heading into a cashless and a much more automated world. Paper currency, cheques, and even plastic credit cards are going away. How will bitcoin factor into this new way of monetary interaction?  I think in a big way but with some sort of controls.

This past month was when BTC showed it has potential momentum to go up quickly, for some analysts it just seemed it was too quick. Most altcoins did the opposite, as people seemed to be dropping their holdings in them to get on board of the fast-climbing Bitcoin. There is no doubt that BTC should be a major part of your portfolio. There is definitely consensus among many that we are heading up over the next few years. It seems that if all continues as is we will be seeing 3x-6x gains in the next couple of years, and on the high side, some are speculating that it might be more like 8x-9x gains from here.

As of this writing, BTC price has been hovering between $10400-$11200 USD, up 23% from the June 1st average.

Though there are the Peter Schiffs of this world that are stubborn gold bugs that think all crypto is heading to zero and gold will go to the moon. Like Warren Buffet not believing in Google or Amazon because he did not see the value and instead invested in IBM. Warren admitted in 2017 he got it wrong and said “I was just too dumb to realize” in relation to Jeff Bezos. Will Peter finally come around in a decade or so from now when gold could be just a pretty yellow rock with some utility.

Crypto markets do need to mature to the point that institutional money has the ability to enter. BTC is the only crypto with the potential liquidity, all the other altcoins just don’t have that and the question is whether they will in the future either. Though for the smaller individual investors or traders, the altcoin market is great to play with and try your hand at making a profit or even a living if you dare to cash-out of some of those profits.

In the last month the Madbyte Team has been helping another crypto altcoin to get a project developed that in the end will also help Madbyte coin gain another step forward.

The summer heat is on and Bitcoin continues its wobbly march upwards, temporarily keeping the value of most altcoins down.  Sami is not available this month to write the newsletter and comment on the state of crypto as he is in the midst of physically moving to southern Ontario, Canada (near to where I, Cryptocronic, live).   We will be able to easily meet up in person and continue working together to complete Madbyte related tasks.

Internally, our team has been assisting with the installation and setup of a new cryptocurrency exchange, which is an initiative by one of our members.  There have been numerous issues just getting the basic configuration with four coins up and running successfully.  Initially, you will see Tradecoin, Madbyte and Litecoin markets paired with Bitcoin.  The exchange is still in testing phases but can be found at https://trade.tradecoinx.ca/trading/ if you want to take a peek.  Feel free to make suggestions of coins to add in our Discord group (or join the Tradecoinx server at https://discord.gg/nBQgXkd).  Know that they are starting off slowly in that regard as to not  over-burden the system.

Our goals for the summer are to continue testing and perfecting our Madfolio trade tracking system and to support tradecoinx.ca.  While the exchange is just a small one, we are hoping that with our support and inside knowledge of its operation, it can be trusted by our members (and eventually the general public) to not just disappear and take your coins like so many others.  We aim to keep you informed of any issues and struggles we are having as we progress with it.

Investing in BTC continues to be one of the best investments in the crypto space with most altcoins taking a back seat. Bitcoin has reached 70% market dominance from its low of 33% in January of 2018. It does seem it is heading back to the 80%+ area that it held until March of 2017.

Interestingly, in March of 2017 we created our Madbyte coin to join the thousands of others that were created during that year. Many of those coins are now gone. But several continue to have dedicated teams working in the background. We have been assisting, supporting and testing a new exchange.

The new TradecoinX exchange that was mentioned last month has taken another step forward toward completion. Madbyte coin is one of the first coins listed there. The exchange is sort of in open beta mode where everything is working, but yet needs some time for real live testing. Both MBYT and TRADE coins have a very low discounted trading fee of only 0.02%.

The Madbyte coin value on the cryptocronic.com website is now coming from TradecoinX instead of NovaExchange.

We have slowly been dropping all the other coins off mbytpool.com and will only be keeping the Madbyte coin on it anymore.

We try to keep a tight ship with our membership website. Those who signup on the MadCapX website and do not use it, by registering their holdings or a node, will be deactivated.

The end of 2019 is fast approaching, only 2 more newsletters left. What are some things to expect before the year comes to a close?

We are planning to offer Madbyte coin holders a swap to our upcoming token before the end of 2019.

Madbyte coin is a proof-of-work coin based on Litecoin from a 2016 codebase. Litecoin has a large base of miners keeping it very secure. So, it is important for us to consider how we will develop Madbyte to allow us to capture what we are trying to do - how to give us all more features and deliver a secure crypto future. We believe swapping to using a ERC20 token is the path forward for Madbyte.

Well over 100 million Madbyte coins have been distributed through mining, rewards and faucets. Part of the plan going forward when making changes to madbyte is to slow down distribution drastically by not having the mining option available anymore. The main way distribution will happen is through staking rewards in the MadCap system.

In the next couple of newsletters, we will layout our plans in more detail. For the latest information go to our Discord channel found through our website. We will be giving regular updates there as we go into this process.

On another note, Nova Exchange will be closing their exchange on October 7th. We suggest to either use a desktop wallet for your Madbyte holdings or if you wish to do some trading go to Tradecoinx.ca.

As many of you already know, the new Madbyte token we have created is called MADX.  Swapping from coin to token will begin later this month.   MADX is an ERC20 token that runs on the ETH blockchain. This allows you to store your MADX in a large variety of token (ETH based) wallets that can be run on your mobile, tablet, desktop and hardware wallets. For instance, Ledger Nano is a hardware wallet that will store your tokens securely. MetaMask wallet on your browser is a great way to have easy access when trading on a DEX like mcafeedex.com.

MADX is currently listed on two exchanges, tradecoinx.ca and mcafeedex.com.  Tradecoinx has two pairings, MADX/BTC and also MADX/MBYT. The MBYT pairing gives you an alternative way to swap for an earlier and longer time period. Though this pairing will have a limited amount available at the 1:1 ratio.

Mcafeedex.com is a decentralized exchange that has four pairings with MADX: ETH, WBTC (wrapped BTC), DIA & TUSD (USD stablecoin). This exchange can be used directly in connection with the MetaMask wallet on your browser, a ledger nano or importing an ETH address along with its private key.

Important upcoming dates:

November 1 - The end of rewards for running Madbyte nodes.  Expect to see all references to MBYT in the Madcapx member panel phased out during the month.

November 15 - The beginning of swap (at 1:1 ratio) from MBYT coin to MADX token at https://madcapx.com/swap.  You will have the option to have tokens sent to your Madcapx account or to your wallet account address.

December 1st - Rewards will now be given out as MADX going forward and no more rewards for MBYT holdings (only for MADX holdings).

December 31st - Swapping at madcapx.com/swap ends.

In regard to our reward system, all MADX will be sent to your Madcapx account and you will be able to request a withdrawal if you wish.  Note that withdrawal requests of MADX from your account may be subject to a few days wait as the processing will be done manually.

Two exchanges have MADX listed: Tradecoinx.ca and Mcafeedex.com. If you are wanting to buy or sell tokens, those are two ways to do it.  It is also very easy and cheap to send from person to person by using one of the many wallets available for ERC20 tokens.

Happy New Year!!! It is great to start the year in a new gear. Our swap is finished. Well over 100 million Madbyte coins were swapped to the new Madbyte token known by the symbol MADX on the ETH blockchain.

Every single member of the top three tier levels swapped to the new token. Only about 2% of the member’s coins did not swap for whatever reason. For those who missed the swap, it is still available at a slightly lower swap ratio at TradeCoinx.ca exchange.

In January, you will be able to withdraw and deposit MADX tokens from within the new MadVault. All the coins & tokens within the MadVault will be held in cold storage.

We look forward to what is happening in 2020 in crypto and not only with Madbyte. Bitcoin will be halving, getting Schnorr Signatures, Taproot and many eyes are going to be on the price to see if it can get a new all-time high over $20,000. Ethereum will be releasing many new updates to get it closer to ETH 2.0. The DeFi (Decentralized Finance) space will continue to expand with over 90% being built on Ethereum. It will be an exciting year.

The Madbyte token and MadCapX membership website are not part of a company and do not currently make a profit of any kind. The token is used mainly for the purpose of allowing holders to be members and as such, gaining monthly rewards for maintaining membership.

MadCapX was built for individuals who have MADX tokens and either wish to hold them longer-term or else convert them to another crypto. The website is home base for MADX holders and we will continue adding new features. For example, in the coming months, we are working on a feature that will allow you to do simple trades without fees. Since this is the hub for Madbyte and the majority of the token holders, it could also set the lead for the token value against BTC.

In January we added MadVault to the panel. This opens up deposits and withdrawals of MADX, BTC, LTC & ETH. Another reason for the new MadVault feature is to allow MadFolio users to store their crypto in our secure cold wallets. All transfers in and out of our system are manually handled which allows us to watch for suspicious activity and prevent hacking.  Deposits and withdrawals are also another step toward allowing members to do trading internally.

Once we are happy with how the membership site works we will look at adding new websites for the MADX token. Our internal roadmap has more platforms we hope to tackle but as per our usual operating method, we will only release information once we have a working beta.

All members with MadCap holdings can now see the MadFolio page but to see and use the Binance API feature for trading you need to be a Junior Partner or higher tier.

February saw bitcoin go above the USD $10,000 mark once again, before sliding back down to below $8500 by the end of the month. As most are aware that the next BTC halving is expected to happen near May 12, 2020, leading to a variety of predictions to where the price is going in the next 10 weeks. Several bulls are predicting a new all-time high over $20,000 in 2020. So does that bring us to about $14,000 in May?

Since MBYT coin was swapped late 2019 to MADX token, what is our expectations on the value going forward? If we take a quick look back, from November to December the value hovered between 1 to 9 Satoshi. January saw it rise to as high as 14 and in February to a high of 17 Satoshi. Could we continue to see new highs made each month for MADX? Will it go over 20 in March with BTC over $11,000?

The TradecoinX exchange that we are listed on is new and has been in beta release. It has low volume and the order books are thin. The Madbyte team has been assisting with the exchange whenever they have needed us. This past month, the exchange was successfully moved to AWS and upgraded with some new features. Many of the issues it was having last year have been now fixed by the developers.  As always, we recommend that you do not use any exchange or platform for storing your coins except when actively trading. You should store your BTC or MADX in your own local cold wallet. “Not your keys, not your bitcoin” as Andreas Antonopoulos would say.

MADX has finally been listed on coinmarketcap.com except it still lacks data values since we are not listed on any of the exchanges they are currently following.

What just happened? Most of the world is on lockdown and unemployment went through the roof. Several governments will be handing out money, not by the millions, but by the billions/trillions to make sure we stay away from each other. It is amazing how things can change in a month.

Cryptocurrencies are well suited for this as most dev teams have been social distancing from the beginning.  Many devs do not even want to even be known except by their pseudonym in Discord or Telegram. Cash has become dirty (potential virus carrier) needing to be sanitized by a disinfectant wipe, where your crypto just needs a QR code to transact. The more cash that gets printed, the less it is worth. You get the idea.  Fiat cash seems to have tested positive for COVID-19, now we wait to see how sick it will actually become.  Or will it weather the storm and gain immunity.  Since death rates are low, the chance of fiat passing away is still unlikely.

All markets took a massive nosedive, as did BTC. So where will Bitcoin go from here? Who really knows. The things we should be watching out for are: the release of a Fed digital dollar (what will that mean for cryptocurrencies), BTC dominance (will it rise from the current 60% to 90%), and the Bitcoin stock to flow ratio (will it hold within the current patterns).

The mining reward for the leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, will be halving around May 12th. This is the third time this will have happened. The reward started at 50 Bitcoin and dropped to 25 in 2012, 12.5 in 2016, and now to 6.25 BTC. These halving events, in turn, has caused Bitcoin value to increase historically. Price during the first halving was $12 per BTC and 150 days later it had gone up to $127. In 2016 the halving price was at $650 and now in 2020.

Bitcoin will continue to be extremely volatile and even more so as we have this perfect storm of events from money printing, halving, and the worldwide lockdown. A few weeks ago we were at lows of $3800 or so and now highs of $9000. The speculation in the stock-to-flow model has BTC heading into the $100,000 area in this next 4-year cycle.  It seems unreal but so did today’s current value in 2012 and 2016, yet here we are. So if you want to speculate, there is always time to see if 10x returns are available. Though when you speculate you can also lose substantial amounts.

We will be expanding the MadCapX tier levels sometime this month. Tier levels will be number-based and no longer have names. For existing members, you will be transferred to the matching new tier at the corresponding reward level. You may ask how many tier levels there will be... but that is a secret that can only be found out by leveling up. We are also changing it so that you will no longer hold multiple tier levels, but instead have just one which is automatically calculated and checked every day from the total in your vault and listed holdings. You will be able to list external holding wallet addresses with at least 1000 MADX or higher. Rewards will continue to be given out on the first of every month.

During the month, do not worry if the panel stops working and you see the message "MadcapX is currently down for maintenance." as that just means we have temporarily turned off functionality for members while system changes are being performed. We will probably be taking the system down multiple times for varying time spans. If you come across any issues, please inform us via our contact form or in Discord.

This past month the MadCapX membership website had a successful change related to it’s tier levels. Gone are the 7 levels starting at a required 8000 to 2.5 million MADX holdings. Membership now starts from 1 MADX token and continues way past the previous 2.5 million.

Your Madcap level will automatically change as you add more internal holdings or specify more external holdings. Higher levels will occasionally have more options. For instance, in the coming month, higher levels will get the new feature we’ve been working on first. So those of you who are in the higher levels should look out for that upcoming new addition.

MadCapX has been the membership platform that Madbyte considers our base for the crypto investor that we will continue to build onto. In 2020, a new platform will be built that relates to a whole different industry but will still use our Madbyte token, MADX. We will share more about this in a later newsletter.

Bitcoin value has continued to hover in the $9000 USD range over the last few weeks. If you are interested in trading cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, there are many large exchanges such as Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, and many others you should look into. Today we are enabling a new feature that allows members to buy and sell Madbyte tokens within the MadCapX platform. It is being released in beta for members that are tier 8 or higher. This allows us to beta test it with a wider group before releasing it to all tier levels.

Initially, there will only be a MADX.1K/BTC pairing with possibly a few more added in the future. Since we do not want people trading MADX in too small of quantities, we have decided to create minimums of 1000 MADX trades (and only in chunks of 1000 MADX). So, 1000 MADX equals 1 MADX.1K.   

We have implemented order expiry times to keep the trading page as clean as possible. The higher tier level you are, the longer your orders will remain listed.  There are no trading fees. Fees only come into play on our system when you withdraw to an external wallet.

Once the trading system is all done and out of beta, you will start seeing more information related to a new website we are working on, Madxgames.com.

This past month also saw a surge in the value of several alt coins. The news of Cardano (ADA) releasing a hard fork has caused it to push to new YTD highs. There are a lot of fake investment company out there, I have fallen a victim myself. Few months ago, I invested about 8.9 btc into “Bitcoinvest" a fake investment company that promised me a really enticing ROI

I realised that I have been scammed when I discovered the payment requested was never ending. A friend here on facebook had told me about this recovery company that helped him and others recoup their lost funds so I decided to give Moore Finance Recovery a chance.

To my surprise after submitting the requested informations, MFR was able to recover my lost funds directly into my wallet account. I was incredibly excited to have my lost funds back.

As we write these monthly newsletters you will have noticed a common thread among them. We update you on what is happening with Bitcoin as it is the gold in crypto or digital gold. It is by far the most important metric to write about when it comes to this new asset class. After that we might talk about other hot topics that are happening in crypto and any new news that we have about Madbyte.

Bitcoin continued to move upwards in August with the high going over $12,400 USD. According to PlanB, the creator of the stock-to-flow BTC price models, Bitcoin is following the S2F model as expected. The models put the target value at $288,000 over the next few years.

ETH transactions fees reached a high of over $7. This is a problem for the small user on the ETH network.  The high fees are mostly caused by stablecoins but also DiFi (decentralized finance) and DEXs (decentralized exchange).   Heavy usage by these entities are causing the fees to jump on the network. Average fees ranged between $1.50 to $7.00 in August. There is talk of a solution to bring them down before ETHv2 is released but for now don’t hold your breath.

If you do trade on a DEX or just move your MADX tokens (ERC20) from one wallet to another the fees have increased drastically as noted above. So a reminder that on MadTrade, inside the MadCapX platform, there are no trading fees.

MADX Games platform will be tied together with MadCapX so there will be no unnecessary transaction fees to move between them. This will allow you to play games or join a tournament within madxgames.com and gain extra MADX or BTC from winning and place them back into your MadVault for safekeeping.

Over the coming months we will watch what Ethereum does in relation to transaction fees before listing on a DEX exchange such as Uniswap. They hit $589 million in daily trading volume in August, which is impressive, surpassing Coinbase Pro ($404 million) and Kraken ($187 million).

What was Bitcoin’s value over the last several years on October 1st? In 2012 it was super low at $11 USD, with the first halving only 2 months away. In 2013 it was at $127 and the Cyprus banking crisis hit the financial markets. Also, during 2013 was the first time Bitcoin passed the price of gold for a brief moment.

In 2014 it was valued at $387. By the end of the year it was given the title by The Guardian as the worst investment of the year. Mt.Gox exchange had failed and Ethereum did its ICO (Initial Coin Offering) and the silk road website was taken down. Tim Draper bought a good chunk of Bitcoins at auction and was predicting it to go to $10,000.

In 2015 it was lower at $238 but in 2016 the price was at $614 with the second halving having happened. During 2017 it reached a lofty $4404. 2017 also was when ICOs became popular with a few blockchain projects raising over $200 million. In 2018 Bitcoin was at $6601 and the ICO frenzy died. During 2019 it was $8334 and some exchanges continued to get hacked. Bakt opens futures trading and bitcoiners are talking about the third halving in 2020. And so today bitcoin is valued at about $10,600.

Most of those years saw massive changes up and down in value. For example, in 2013, there was a massive rise of 10,250% from $12 to $961 but in 2014 it dropped 52%. If you look at Bitcoin valuations from the October 1st lens it seems like a great time to buy especially after a halving.

We continue to see Bitcoin as the number one crypto for a portfolio even though almost every week we see another new cryptocurrency pop up. Some of them even hit the top 10 on Coinmarketcap very quickly. For example, UNI (Uniswap) is up over 2700% on Binance since it was listed on Sept.17, 2020. But history shows that most altcoins over the long term are not very successful.

So it is almost the end of the year, and what a year it has been!  The COVID pandemic has dominated the news cycles and affected nearly every country in the world.  Starting with this update, we will no longer provide any market analysis or commentary here. Instead, we will keep you informed of what is going on with the Madbyte / MadCapX projects. 

As you may know, we recently started a new weekly periodical at madcapx.substack.com, which will contain expanded cryptocurrency market coverage.   We will feature a different coin/token each week and provide access to a running portfolio that you can follow.  Keep an eye out for periodic discounts provided for MadCapX members.

Concerning our MadCapX member area, we have continued working on back-end bugs and administration features for our MadTrade section.  This trading system was the final significant addition we had planned for 2020.   If you have any suggestions for services or features in the member area going forward, why not suggest them to us in our Discord.

Finally, we have also decided on changing the name of this monthly report from “Newsletter” to “Update” to classify it more accurately.

Happy new year!!!

In the last update we were saying how close BTC was to its all-time-high and here we are now having easily surpassed it and approaching $35K USD for 1 BTC. With it looking like everyone wants in on the action, the price might keep pumping or we might be heading for a correction. Either way, remember that if you do decide to invest right now, do not sell in a panic the moment you see it drop... "hodlers" win when it comes to Bitcoin. As for the alt-coins, most are taking a bit of a beating when pairing with BTC. In the long run, many of the larger crypto projects are sure to do quite well regardless.

Some of you have been asking for more information regarding our plans with madxgames.com. We can only say that a small team is starting development on browser-based games initially which we plan to integrate Madbyte tokens or some other cryptocurrencies in some way. We wish to generate more use cases for MADX, thus eventually increasing its value. If there is anything in particular you would like to see in this regard, why not come chat with us on our Discord server. We hope to have something to view and/or try out by the time we release our next update.

Welcome to alt-season!

As Bitcoin continues to stay at near all-time-high levels, we are seeing signs of the alt-coin markets building up steam for numerous bull runs. Just a few days after releasing last week's MadCapX Newsletter issue #14, we all watched as DOGE did a crazy pump (and subsequent dump which is still ongoing). This may have caught some newbies to the crypto space buying heavy DOGE bags that they now can't sell without significant loss or waiting until the next surprise pump.

We have also watched as Internet communities have come together to troll the stock market in regard to GameStop and AMC. This disruption is causing major costly headaches for hedge funds but we can see how the system is geared toward helping out the big money institutions while your average joe trader plays by a different set of rules. Crypto markets are still mostly unregulated and some are decentralized, so while you can enjoy the wild west style freedom here, remember that the risks can be huge.

I know that in the last update we said we might have something to show you in terms of the MadXGames site but unfortunately we won't be revealing anything yet. The small team we have working on things is still just in the starting phases and experimenting with ideas. So with that being said, we think it is best to not give timelines as there are too many unknowns at this time.
