In the companies Q1 summary, DECENT mentioned that Matej Boda has set out to focus on a new venture devoted to content distribution. The announcement of his new company, TREETI hit the press last week, just in time for the Easter holiday.
DECENT is excited to see what Matej Boda’s experience and expertise in blockchain can bring to the entertainment industry. TREETI has stated that their platform, scheduled to hit later this year, will run on the DCore platform which is fueled by DCT. TREETI has the potential to change the face of film distribution. Disrupting a multi-billion dollar industry might be a challenge, but Boda has some big names in his corner. He has partnered up with entertainment guru Amorette Jones, Amorette had this to say about the project.
“This is the breakthrough moment for the film industry. Blockchain is the next frontier to upend the traditional distribution models and we’re tapping into this technology to drive the future of how creators make, distribute and monetize films as well as how fans consume it. It’s not a matter of when it happens, but how it’s done, and we think we have the answer. We are offering studios and creators a way to securely sell their movies at the cost of their choosing while eliminating excessive fees and providing true trust and transparency every step of the way.”
Matej Boda went on to elaborate about the goals of the new undertaking. “We are not aiming to create just another blockchain app. Our goal is to develop a network of individuals, businesses and organizations that will enjoy the advantages of a blockchain driven society and we think that the film industry will benefit immensely.”
Together Boda and Jones have already begun to secure key partnerships. TREETI has just announced a cooperation with IFP to work on their Expanded program which aims to support the next generation of filmmakers from around the world.
Matej Boda will commit 100% of his efforts on his new venture, TREETI, while Matej Michalko will continue to lead DECENT with planned infrastructure improvements and solidifying DCore as the blockchain you can actually build on. He is working closely with joint ventures, such as ALAX, leveraging 100M+ active users in emerging markets to fulfill DECENT’s mission to bring blockchain technology to mass markets.
