All the things you wanted to know about Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies

2019 Blockchain Trends

Until a decade ago, currencies that resided on the internet which we can use to pay were only seen in the movies. That all changed in 2009 when Satoshi Nakamoto published a proof of concept resulting in the creation of the Bitcoin.

Since then, the cryptocurrency market has grown exponentially.  Bitcoin itself, even with its ups and downs, managed to keep on rising. With the cryptocurrency market getting more and more attention, developers started working on other forms of cryptocurrencies. All of them together are called Altcoins, and they represent alternatives to Bitcoin.

As the years went by, people’s interest in these altcoins grew to the point where investing or trading with them became more profitable than Bitcoin. Even though last year was a disaster for cryptocurrencies, they still are a good investment idea. With that in mind, today I will outline a few altcoins to invest in.

Litecoin

Two years after the creation of the Bitcoin, Charlie Lee presented Litecoin to the world. Only two years after its creation, the Litecoin hit one billion market capitalisation in 2013. Being a fork of Bitcoin, they share a lot of similarities but are very different. Litecoin is often called an “improved Bitcoin”. One of the many improvements it has are the block times. Unlike Bitcoin’s 10-minute block times, Litecoin has only 2.5 minutes.

Back in 2017, the Litecoin grew from $4 at the beginning of the year to $350 by the end of it. That means that the investment return is enormous — John Makori from The Oofy visions a great future for Litecoin by 2020.

NEO

Among the many altcoins to invest in you have NEO. Initially called Antares, this is a cryptocurrency that originated from China, and it is one of the newer ones that grew very well. Often referred to as the Chinese Etherium, NEO’s price at the beginning of 2017 was less than a dollar – $0.16. One year later, the price grew to $162 at the beginning of 2018.

Wallet investor’s technical analysis claim that NEO is a bad investment idea. On the other hand, the guys at Smartereum say that, based on the interest of investors as well as the technology, NEO is a good investment strategy. That is backed up by Mark Cagney from SoFi who sees NEO as Bitcoin’s replacement. Brian Evans sees a similar future for NEO.

Cardano

When it comes to newer altcoins to invest in, Cardano is worth mentioning. Created by one of Etherium’s co-founders, Charles Choskinsons, Cardano provides lots of improvements over other its Competitors. Cardano’s short existence has shown that the return of investment can be big. The price on launch in October 2017 was $0.2 which grew to $1.20 in January 2018. That is a huge growth in 3 months.

If we take a look at predictions from Finder, they expect to see Cardano grow about 54% by March 1st which is the highest growth out of all coins taken into consideration. They also predict a growth of 260% by the end of this year. This prediction isn’t the highest one, but it beats a lot of the more “popular” coins on the market.

Conclusion

Last year’s crash of the cryptocurrency market was a disaster. In spite of that, investors are still interested in investing in them. If you are one of those, these three altcoins should provide a good investment return.
