Huobi Overtakes Bitfinex Again As Primary USD/BTC Exchange

Huobi has overtaken Bitfinex as the leading USD exchange for Bitcoin trading in the past 24 hours. At the time of writing, the company was responsible for more than one in three trades on the BTC/USD trading market. Bitfinex, on the other hand, only completed one in four trades in this segment.

Spoofed Kraken Email Is A Mt.Gox Victims Phishing Attempt

The phishing email contains a link to a Google Drive file, which should hold a list of all accepted and rejected Mt. Gox claims. It is not the first time a document like that is trying to make the rounds among Bitcoin members. The real information can be found here. Users should always be extra careful when facing these types of files and documents, as there is a high chance someone wants to hack your computer and steal your Bitcoin.

Anomali Labs Evidence Hints At Lazarus Involvement In Swift Breach

Anomali researchers have discovered five different malware code samples used during the Swift attacks. All of these tools have been used by Lazarus in the past. It is impossible to deny the similarities, but there is no conclusive evidence either. These hacking tools are often resold on deep web marketplaces, and it is possible a different entity is behind these attacks.

Bitcoin Usage In Canada Doubled in 2015

But the most important finding of this survey is how Canadians seem to be warming up to the usage of Bitcoin as well. In fact, the study shows how usage of Bitcoin has doubled in Canada throughout 2015. This is rather surprising news, considering how several Bitcoin exchanges in the country have shut down in 2015. Cointrader closed its doors last year, and CaVirtex was acquired by Kraken several months ago as well. Additionally, Vault of Satoshi had to shut down as well due to profitability issues.

Lisk Becomes Second Most Popular Cryptocurrency Traded Against Bitcoin

It is also no surprise to find out Poloniex is the driving force behind this trading volume, with over 80% of the total Bitcoin volume in the past 24 hours. Yobit is in second place, though, which is not something most people had anticipated at this point in time. However, it is good to see new players emerge in the field of cryptocurrency exchanges.

Federal Reserve Faced Hundreds of Cyber Attacks Since 2011

In total, 310 reports were filed by the Board of Governors between 2011 and 2014. Nearly half of those attacks were labeled as hacking attempts, although some reports were not classified under a specific banner. Moreover, there have been eight information breaches between 2011 and 2013, all of which occurred through malicious code used by hackers.

Teamviewer Censors News Outlets Reporting On Breach And Stolen Funds

To make matters even worse, several TeamViewer users have reported how they lost money as a result of this attack. PayPal accounts have been drained, causing thousands of US Dollars to be stolen all over the world. The company is blaming this on the users as well, albeit there is very little someone can do about it when the remote desktop service they use is compromised.

Flashpoint Study Shows Spreading Ransomware Is No Cash Cow

What is noteworthy is how the Flashpoint research indicates these crime rings usually rely on personal relationships. With no central command and control infrastructure, affiliates get carte blanche as to how they distribute ransomware. Moreover, they need to keep tabs on how many and which systems have been infected successfully.

New Law in China Delays Launch of Mobile Games By A Month or More

It goes without saying this mobile games vetting process is inefficient and unnecessary. Some people even refer to this news as “something ridiculous only a government could come up with”. Mobile games will go through the hands of provincial authorities, which takes at last five business days to assess completeness and accuracy of the application.

Indian IT Giant Infosys to Market Blockchain Among Local Banks

It is not the first time the blockchain makes waves in India, as the Reserve Bank of India saw potential in this technology last December. Moreover, this innovation can help banks in cutting costs across nearly all services and products. Infosys is actively exploring these opportunities through EdgeVerve Systems, and so far, they are are in preliminary talks with various banks in the country.

Drop In ETH/USD Trading May Cause EUR Market To Gain Momentum

By the look of things, it is very well possible EUR trading will overtake the USD market, as far as Ethereum is concerned. There is only a 20,000 ETH discrepancy between the two trading pairs, which is a lot smaller than most traders would expect it to be. However, it will take some time until this change comes to fruition, though.

Tor Browser 6.0 Is Now Available For Download

Most people use the Tor browser to protect their privacy on the Internet. Update 6.0 has tracking protection enabled by default, and SHA1 certificates are disabled right out of the gate. Whether or not this will have a significant impact on browser fingerprinting, remains to be seen. The only way to verify this is by releasing it to the public and collecting feedback.

Deutsche Bank Customers Debited Twice In As Many Days

But that is not all, as some Deutsche Bank customers are reporting they can no longer withdraw funds from bank ATMs. With a negative account balance, it is not possible to receive cash, nor can they use their bank or debit cards for completing purchases. Mobile and online banking are also affected, as the servers seem to respond very slowly or not at all.

The One Visa Payment Ring To Rule All Contactless Payments

It is important to note using the Visa payment ring still requires an NFC-capable payment terminal. Users can then proceed to “fist bump” the terminal in question, and payments should be accepted automatically. Moreover, this is a very cost-efficient solution, as it uses a secure microchip by Gemalto and a tiny NFC antenna. That being said, the Visa payment ring is waterproof, which some people might see as a bonus.
