How is this project protected from hackers? Or it isn't protected at all?
The prize fund is stored in a smart contract with multi-signatures. Such a system protects the prize pool from hackers.

I think that the founders were also preparing to such a situation, so I believe that funds will be completely safe.

no one is safe. if you want to get money, you should risk, but founders of such ICOs are trying to minimize it.
